Default Your favorite "sporty" FWD car . . . .

For me it would have to be the 90's Honda Del Sol.

That little 1.6 4 cylinder motor with Vtec revved to 8,000rpm. Peak horsepower was 160hp, which is 100hp/liter for that tiny displacement motor. Granted 8 years later Honda gave us the S2000, a 2 liter with 240hp, but back in 1992, 160 hp was a ton, especially for a car that weighed 2300lbs.

I really like the 2 seater arrangement, the targa top, the rear window that rolls down. The styling is just a knock out of the park IMO, Honda really had some great looking cars in the 90's IMO.

my fav has to be...

been through about 4-5 fwd SR20 vehicles and nothing compares to the white B13 SE-R I had...just a dream to drive for such a small car.

runner up would be a 1993 Integra GSR

first time VTEC came to the lower end cars under Honda/Acura...and was definitely fun to drive, as well

i currently own a G20t 5speed and it's pretty fun...new bushings, agx shocks and lowering springs did wonders to this ride

I really like what Ford has done with the Fiesta ST.

As far as 90's go the Turbo Eclipse was tough to beat.

Those 90's DSM cars were pretty darn cool looking, both outside and the dash layout. Problem was the turbo cars, ie the hot ones you really wanted were unreliable turds.

The Elicpse GSX, with AWD and the turbocharged 4G63 motor, was a detuned but much better styled version of the Lancer Evolution IV rally car.

Despite its noise, lack of refinement, and balky carburetor, I'd have to say the mid-1980s Mazda GLC. I had one with manual (non-power) steering, as power steering wasn't standard back then, and the road feel from it was as good or better than many BMWs I've driven.

The Integra is really timeless, one of the best looking cars ever.

Sedan would have to be the TL type S.

Coupe I would pick the Integra Type R / GSR.

For go-kart-like handling and fun in a "sporty" FWD car, it's hard to argue with a MINI Cooper S. A girl magnet too.
