Toyota Teamate has the highest overall rating. Somehow I’m not surprised

I find it really interesting that Tesla is so low on that list...

This reminds me of the moron who got his head lopped off when his Tesla went under a semi. Had been using the "autopilot".

Good for Lexus...I guess. At least it's the only one that was acceptable.

They aren't actually all that good vs the best out there, just a lot of hype and people coming out of older cars who have never been around advanced anything.

The only two hands-free systems on this entire list are Lexus Teammate and GM Supercruise. The rest aren't, hence why the other Lexus system is also ranked at the bottom of the list. Lexus isn't doing anything special.

I hate Ford's name for it. Bluecruise? Makes me think of Blue's Clues.

A much better explanation of what this list tests. Seems pretty useless.

This list is basically about how intrusive the system is, to ensure the driver is paying attention. Tesla has made a recent update that makes it hard to take your eyes off the road for a couple seconds. I'm guessing this test didn't include that update.

I'm glad IIHS is testing these. It'll help manufacturers push the bar and improve these systems. They *could* be awesome - maybe this is the push they need to get there.

Ah yes, that's what I meant as well. Lots of hype vs systems like supercruise that actually work nearly as well a real driver. My expectations if I am not driving is for the car to at least match my abilities when I've been up for 20+ hours not STILL need me to mind it. I would much rather just drive vs stare at the car until it screws up since that's much more effort

Part of the test judged whether the system would stop the L2 driving if you had cheesecloth on your head. Look at figure 2b on page 7 lol

I find it stupid that it was called "autopilot"

Along with the huge screen in front that tries to do everything, this is probably why Tesla has the highest accident rate among all brands tested:

In fact, on the news today there was a fatality where a woman drowned after hitting something wrong on the screen:
