Default Watch BMWs 600-Horsepower M5 30 Jahre Edition Burn Rubber: Video

BMW launched a special version of its latest M5 to celebrate the nameplates 30th anniversary this year. The special version is called the M5 30 Jahre Edition, German for 30 years, and just 300 of them will be built for worldwide sale. And of these, only 30 will make it to U.S. shores, one of which is being kept by BMW of North America.

Despite a steep $138,275 price tag, its almost certain all the cars are sold outand for good reason. With a peak output of 600 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque, the M5 30 Jahre Edition is the most powerful road car BMW has ever built.

The 0-60 mph dash is accomplished in just 3.7 seconds (with the standard seven-speed M-DCT dual-clutch transmission) and top speed is governed to 155 mph (190 mph with the M Driver's Package). As for the car's curb weight, that comes in at a hefty 4,123 pounds.

Watch it be unleashed in the video above. As the host concludes, with just 300 due to be built, be sure to take a closer look if youre ever lucky enough to spot one in the wild.

Despite it being slower, I think I'd go with the old M5, just to hear this sort of music when the V10 winds around to 8000rpm.

From a style perspective, I really do prefer the old E39 M5, but man that V10 is such a sweet-hart, the sound is just intoxicating and very exotic.

Special car no doubt, but Dinan just came out with that 675hp version.

Default BMW's First M5 E28 Meets Latest M5 F10 for a Walkaround

Nearly thirty years separate BMW's first M5-badged car of the E28 generation built from 1985 to 1988 and its latest F10 M5 available since 2011.

Notice that we said "M5-badged" because, technically, the 1980 M535i E12 was the predecessor of the performance series.

Even though it would have been super cool to see in practice what thirty years of constant development can lead to in a straight-line duel, the guys from GTBoard did not race the two cars and simply filmed a static video focusing on the styling.

The 286hp straight-six powered E28 with the aggressive shark nose in its uncompromised European form (the North American versions had those repulsive pop-out bumpers and same sized twin headlamps) is a beautiful classic performance car from the 1980s.

Of course, not everyone will agree, but on the outside, I find its modern successor far more derivative in comparison. I think (to some extent) the opposite applies with the 552hp (560PS) F10's interior, as I was never really a fan of the E28's cabin.

Default BMW 550i tuned to 570 HP by PP-Performance

Torque bumped to 800 Nm

Fostla in collaboration with PP-Performance have recently customized a BMW 550i (F10).

The mid-size executive sedan received a fully body gray olive matte finish complemented by a few glossy black elements such as the front bumper lip and rear diffuser while the headlights and taillights have a black tint. There are some changes on the inside where there's an interesting pattern on the dashboard and center console along with a new leather wrap for the sports steering wheel.

Most of the work is noticeable under the hood where PP-Performance was in charge of tweaking the 4.4-liter V8 engine and they boosted output from the series 449 HP (330 kW) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) to 570 HP (419 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. The power package costs 4,299 and also includes a top speed unlocker.

As a final touch, this particular BMW 550i has also been equipped with H&R lowering springs (-35mm) to match the fresh 2,000 Yido Performance YP1 Talia 20-inch wheels shod in 245/35ZR20 front and 285/30ZR20 rear Michelin Pilot Sport tires.

Default Californian Customer Gets BMW M5 with $10,824 Individual Paint Job

Click here to view more photos

Remember BMW's most expensive paint job, the Individual Pure Metal Silver with the $10k price tag? Someone just took delivery of a new M5 finished in the pricey shade in California.

The lucky owner is BMW F10 forum member Sealionbeast who managed to tick eight boxes on the options list that cost him another $43,954 on top of the M5's $93,600 MSRP bringing the total to $139,804 including destination ($950) and Gas Guzzler Tax ($1,300), though, he did not buy the car and instead opted to lease it.

While we've no doubt that some viewers may…congratulate him for having another…silver M5 with a fancy paint-job name, he seems pretty stoked about the Individual color:

"I went to check it out right away. It was dark, but I could tell the Pure Metal Silver paint was something special. The paint was unbelievable," he said in a posting.

"It's difficult to describe what it looks likes in person" Sealionbeast continued. "I had a 13 Alpine White M5 and this paint just shows of the lines better. It doesn't look painted, more like the car panels were forged or cast out of mother of pearl or abalone. The car just looks fluid and the paint deep. Don't get me wrong it is silver but a deeper more fluid looking silver."

^ Who in their right mind would spend $10k on a slightly different shade of silver . . . .

If we're spending 10k on optional paint, I'd make the factory spray it in some crazy one off metallic burnt orange or something weird/different.

It looks nice.

Granted I'm more of a Black color car person.......but I guess Silver or Grey works for others

@4TehNguyen
Hehe sky is the limit with regards to what you want to customise for a BMW M5 F10. In fact, BMW Individual caters to a lot of things that most standard BMW buyers rarely select or demand.

If you want different color stitching, then it is possible to purchase it for an added fee. Also, colors that are not part of the standard color lineup (e.g. Imola Red, Kingfisher Blue, Java Green, Dakar Yellow, etc.)

Anything is possible (at leat with regards to exterior and interior color choices)
