Five years after Honda and its Chinese joint-venture partner Dongfeng Honda Automobile kicked off production of the local market Accord dubbed Spirior, which was directly related to the 8th-gen European and Japanese Accord, and the North American Acura TSX, the big "H" is preparing Chinese customers for a new model via the world premiere of the Spirior Concept at the Beijing Auto Show.
While not identical, the Spirior Concept does give the sense that it was designed by the same people who penned the new Acura TLX…at the same time, especially when you compare it to the TLX Concept.
According to Honda, "the all-new Spirior achieved significant advancements in exterior design, dynamic performance and technologies as well as safety features", with the automaker adding that the market introduction of production 2015 Spirior sedan is scheduled before the end of this year.
The concept, as well as the production car that will follow, is powered by Honda's 2.4-liter direct-injection four-cylinder gasoline mill paired to an 8-speed DCT transmission.
Among other standard and available tech features offered on the new Spirior are head-up display, lane departure warning and blind spot display systems.

Beijing Live – Next generation Honda Spirior Concept (Chinese Honda Accord)
Dongfeng Honda has presented the next generation Honda Spirior at the ongoing 2014 Beijing Auto Show in a concept state. The current Spirior was launched in 2009, and the nameplate is attracting customers who look for “high quality, advanced technology” and are “advocates of driving pleasure.”
The concept (and the production vehicle) comes with a 2.4L direct injection engine paired to an 8-speed dual clutch gearbox.
Some of the features on the production car talked about in the press release are a head-up display system, lane departure warning system, blind spot display systems and “other advanced technologies.”
The new Spirior will launch in the fourth quarter of the year.

very similar looks and specs...but I do like the exhaust better on the Spirior....entire car looks sportier....but -- just a concept!

Well, guys, we've been hearing for years that China will play a bigger part than the US in the design of new cars, so I guess this is evidence. Much better-looking car than its US counterpart.
