So do we think it'll be related to this BMW Pininfarinia Gran Lusso Coupé?

Does anyone feel that the LF-LC was a trendsetter in design? Two years later, I see a lot of the LF-LCs design language in the lines, stitching, and electronics in this and other concept cars. But this looks great, it will be very competitive to the S-class. Lexus has to step it up with the next LS.

I would be more inclined to agree with you if the BMW Gran Lusso hadn't come out a while back. That concept and this one are quite similar.

Will there still be a V12 engine for the next-gen 7 series?

highly doubt it. tax-grabbers and tree-huggers will soon have killed pretty much everything except 4 cyl engines, hybrids and electrics.

We have more exotic cars, 500hp cars, V-8s, Turbos, V-10s, V-12s etc than we have ever had before.

with vast wealth created in asia and russia in the last decade, as well as 'traditional' markets, there's a big market for powerful cars, no matter the cost. but for MOST of the people on the planet (particularly outside the u.s), the carbon tax, engine size tax, engine cylinder tax, VAT, and other taxes have meant such vehicles are less attainable than ever.

The extreme new CAFE standards haven't kicked in yet. In 10 short years each corporate average has to be 54.5 mpg. A ridiculous number considering that's what the next Prius is expected to get and will run til 2020. Yet lineups filled with trucks and SUV's are supposed to thrive?

^Thanks

I really think the 4 door will be the new 7, while the coupe will become a new 8.

Typically I prefer 4-doors but I don't mind most coupes. Not a convertible fan
