That 4GR-FSE isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be.

Besides its that engine variant that makes up like 80% of the IS sales anyway.

In Australia base Audi A4 1.4L &1.8L or the base C-class 1.8L are real junk and also very unreliable.

Initially I was set on getting the IS250, when I test drove it I had no complaints regarding the performance. On the highway you punch it and it pulls strongly.

I got the 350 due to a good deal that I couldn't pass..

I drove a 250 and its not a bad engine at all just think its time to update/upgrade a little.

Agreed, it's a bit underpowered, but it's more than fine for daily driving. My only concern with the turbo is that it won't be as smooth as the V6.

I agree also I hope its reliable and can last 100K or more. Turbo engines I have heard wasn't too reliable but i'm sure Lexus did their research and study.

depend on the power number of the turbo 4. if it puts out numbers similar to BMW 328's turbo 4 then i seriously doubt Lexus would put that in the IS to jeopardize the IS350 sales. but if the number is close to the current IS250's then it's almost certain the turbo 4 will find its way to the IS250.

3l was a 2jz essentially the same engine in the 1is.

The 2.5 and 3.5 are essentially the same engine just one is bigger and has different heads.

the 3.0L in the 3rd gen GS is different than its predecessors. It's a V6 (3GR-FSE).

2.0t will probably end up getting various levels of tune throughout the lineup, just like BMW's.

Number for IS has be rumored to be 250hp and 237hp for NX.

To me more interesting is what will happen to GR... I have a feeling it will end up in same situation as V8 in RC-F.

I read so many Toyota news, and I know Hoovey hear something about turbo's, but I have a feeling that 2GR-FSE (or whatever V6 it ends up being, may be new series) will get rework like UR in RC-F - which means a lot of new tech, and still NA. It will likely get Atkisnon cycle, better mpg and still have more hp than now.
