I don't think it is edited, but I think it is just the angle and glare that makes it look like the car just appears from the camera's point of view. You can see the car to the right making the left turn with the BMW hits his brakes and slows down for the supposed ghost car before the BMW brakes and before the supposed ghost car appears. Obviously the other car see's the supposed ghost car before it comes into camera view. I think the car just ran the red light.

You can see reflections of the BMW's headlights on the "ghost" car, so at least it should be material, and it cast a shadow on the road too
