Trim bits look good. Nice to see a 3 pedal set-up on this and a gated shifter nonetheless. R-Tronic was never any good.

How do you like owning the R8. I'm thinking about getting a supercar. Maybe a GT-R, Viper or R8. Have you owned any other exotics? How did they compare?

This current R8 may be the last generation with the stick shift manual............as Audi might ditch it on the next-gen model.

Like the LFA, the R8 is one of those few supercars that is dailyable

Yup. No Lambo, no Ferrari. Aston Martin Vantages you can still get MT, but even BMW was reluctant to put a 3-pedal in the current M5 and swore that it will be the last one

I know this may offend some people but I really don't consider a fat GTR an exotic. Fast yes, exotic not really. My buddy used to have a Viper that he would take me for a spin back in Chicago and it was an amazing car tuned by HRC. Not an exotic either but sure was a fun toy car.

Some people consider my NSX exotic but I don't really think of that car as one either.

My plan is to pick up a 458 sometime next year if things go well. I think the 458 is one of the few logical upgrades to an R8. The 430 and Gallardo are simply the same level of car.


P.S. I did want to add, if you do go with an R8, get the v10 and make sure it's a 6MT. The manual tranny is what makes the R8 special hearing each click as you shift. The R-tronic is old technology and the new S-tronic is better but still can't beat the feel of a manual as this is what makes the R8 a truly fun car to drive.

I'm working a deal over Black Friday on a white SFP right now. Fingers crossed

Happy Holidays Clublexus, hope to be back soon. At least we are still in the Lexus family with my wife's CT which will hit 100k by end of this year. She is eyeing the new model (this time in white)

I recently sold my S4 and now actively looking for a IS-F as my daily driver, really wish I never sold my pristine SFP, now it seems nearly impossible to find one with my mileage and condition. I had a 2008 so prefer to get a 2011+ this time around. Mods ok if done tastefully or otherwise take a stock car

Wife is looking for a 2011+ USB IS-F so if anyone has leads on a nice low mileage car with no accidents please PM me! Mods are ok but must be tasteful and able to pass SMOG. She wants a clean DD with decent gas mileage to replace her CT.

We ordered this BMW Individual color Dakar M3 and took delivery only recently. A lot of mods are planned but initial thoughts is the car is a polar opposite of the IS-F. Being a twin turbo 6 power plant, it gets incredible torque and still manages 26mpg which is even better than the IS-F!

BMW is one of the few companies still supporting the 6-speed manual crowd, wish Lexus would make a manual option in their rides:
