Lightbulb Subaru

Continuing its long sales streak, Subaru of America, Inc. has reported record sales of 44,479 vehicles for March 2014. This is an increase of 21% over the March 2013 sales of 36,701 and means the company has now set consecutive monthly sales increases for the past 28 months.

The Forester and XV Crosstrek model lines both significantly contributed to the company’s strong March sales and also its performance so far in 2014, which saw the company post first quarter sales of over 100,000 for the first time.

Furthering optimism around the brand, an all-new Legacy sedan model was shown this February and more new models are expected from the company later this year.

“We are delighted to have once again delivered record results” said Thomas J. Doll, president and chief operating officer, Subaru of America, Inc. “2014 looks already set to be our seventh year of consecutive sales growth, with more new product to come”

Lightbulb Hyundai

Hyundai Motor America announced March sales of 67,005, up 37 percent over February, down 1.9 percent from a year ago.

“While we were hoping weather across the country would finally break, much of the nation continued to experience winter conditions, resulting in slower sales early in the month,” said Bob Pradzinski, vice president of national sales, Hyundai Motor America. “During the second half of March, we saw very nice gains in our retail pace that we expect to continue throughout the month of April.”

Entering the spring selling season, we are looking forward to the launch of the all-new 2015 Genesis sedan set to arrive at dealerships later this month. Just as the first Genesis, launched in 2009, was a turning point for the Hyundai brand, we expect the all-new sedan will draw a new group of premium customers to our dealerships.

The Santa Fe family saw sales gains of 36.7 percent, followed by the Tucson at 13.6 percent. The flagship Hyundai Equus was up 13.8 percent for the month, followed by the Sonata and Veloster up 6.8 percent and 3.3 percent respectively.

Honda / Acura

American Honda today reported March 2013 U.S. sales of 136,038 units, an increase of 7.1 percent compared with March 2012 (up 11.1 percent based on the Daily Selling Rate, or DSR*). The Honda brand posted March 2013 sales of 121,938 units, an increase of 5.3 percent compared with March 2012. Acura U.S. March sales of 14,100 units increased 26.3 percent compared with March 2012.

Honda

The award-winning new Accord continues to rack up impressive sales numbers, trumping the segment in retail sales, up 36.4 percent from last March with sales of 36,504 units
The Civic was the Honda brand's second best-selling model, posting March sales of 27,665
The redesigned 2013 Crosstour sees third consecutive month of sales growth, and along with Pilot, each model enjoyed sales gains of more than 11 percent from last March

"Our core models, Civic, Accord, CR-V and Odyssey, continue to lead the industry where it counts, in retail sales," said John Mendel, executive vice president of Sales at American Honda. "It's particularly rewarding to see Accord and Civic winning new customers against a headwind of competitor incentives and value-reducing fleet sales."

Acura

RDX sets its eleventh-consecutive monthly sales record, up 284.8 percent from last March, and is the top-selling Acura model in March with sales of 3,875 units

Sales of the all-new flagship RLX sedan, which went on-sale March 15, are off to a solid start with 336 units sold
TL was the top selling Acura sedan in March with sales of 3,080 units, ILX sales continue to bolster Acura totals with sales of 2,059 units

"As we close in on a full year of sales, it's clear that the RDX is an undisputed success," said Jeff Conrad, vice president and general manager of Acura Sales. "With the all-new RLX off to a great start and a redesigned MDX coming soon, expect great things from Acura this year."

*The daily selling rate (DSR) is calculated with 27 days for March 2013 and 28 days for March 2012. Year-to-date, the DSR is calculated with 76 days for 2013 and 77 days for 2012. All other percentages in release are unadjusted; see table for adjusted DSR figures.

Also amazing to see them move over 2000 crappy ILX units in a month.

Back to real news we care about, IS numbers were brilliant.

The spin they put on the RLX is kinda pathetic. And hasn't the RLX been on sale for well over a year now?

looking at Toyota's lineup... i wonder what else can they do? This is their maximum right now, they might get more Lexus sales with NX and RX, and Mazda based small sedan could double Yaris, some new Scion model could boost up sales, but to leap over this they need Tundra to triple its sales which is not going to happen.

We are reaching the high point of Toyota sales in the USA right now with many of their non-truck models having best sales ever. Congrats.

Mercedes just sold a truckload of S-class's. Those numbers almost remind of the good 'ole days back in the mid 2000s. Almost.

Side note, RAM outsold the Silverado this month! First time since 1999.

Lightbulb Kia

Kia Motors America (KMA) today reported March sales of 54,777 vehicles, a 11.5-percent increase over the same period in 2013 and led by record monthly sales of the U.S.-built* Optima midsize sedan the and Soul, with 16,310 and 13,992 units sold, respectively. Included in the second-best March total in company history are the first retail deliveries of the all-new K900 luxury sedan, which began arriving in select showrooms in limited supply last month.

"2014 marks Kia's 20th anniversary in the U.S. and our performance in March helped first quarter sales rise 4.8-percent over last year, thanks to strong consumer traffic and the ongoing popularity of the Optima and Soul," said Michael Sprague, executive vice president of sales and marketing, KMA. "With K900s now arriving in dealerships, Kia's product portfolio is more refined than ever and offers world-class design, advanced technology and outstanding quality in every segment we compete in, from subcompact to luxury."
