Congrats Mike! I went the van route, but had to since I have 3 kids to seat with one still in a baby seat. SUV's with a 3rd row sacrifice trunk space, so I highly recommend a van. However, you can get by just fine with a 4 seater or SUV with 2 kids or less.

I also highly recommend the Recaro baby seat.

Congrats LexFather on the next stage of your life.

We may be super-passionate about cars but we sometimes get reminders about what's really important : namely family and friends.

As long as the next car fits you and your family : that's what's most important...

Believe it or not in the SE there were no Ultra White F-sports. None.

I personally think the IS is big enough for one kid. But you have to choose right stroller and car seat for it. I recommend Bugaboo strollers, they are really small when you fold it. It goes easily into the trunk and have half of space left for other stuffs. You can then choose a car seat that has adapter for the stroller. The back seat of IS has enough room for different car seats.

My son is 4½ now, and this is what he has now. Really like it!

Recaro Monza Nova 2 Seatfix.
Thanks for the love and suggestions. In shopping around its like nothing is for us car guys. Even the wheels on strollers stink

Makes a ton of sense, I prefer Vans to SUVs for the utility, its not even close.

Hopefully he loves cars as I do My wife has been awesome enough to attend a few car events with me so hopefully he's in there listening to the talk and the engines.

Didn't see the most important piece. Imagine the interior around the car seat soaked in regurgitated formula/breastmilk. Not just once. It will help a lot in the shopping process.

The other thing - car seats are designed for flat level surfaces. There are none of these in modern cars. Get used to the idea of permanent creases in the leather where the car seat has been strapped down tighter than a chastity belt on a virgin. Trust me, it's your future, AMHIK.

Yes, the Recaro seat is awesome.

Congrats the pending addition to your family! Oh, and on your new child too! :-p

But seriously I hope your experience is like mine. My oldest wouldn't sleep. I'd put her in the back of the GS though and within 2-3 blocks she was out like a light. Great excuse to go drive that

Thanks dude. I've always carried stuff in the cars including family/friends baby seats so the marks on the leather are real!

Yes, the Recaro seat is awesome.

Get a seat protector, like so:
Seat Protector Seat Protector
. They don't solve everything, but they do help.

If it's not regurgitated formula, it's crushed goldfish and sticky, dried juice.

I'm shocked Lexus hasn't made you a poster child by now. You have/had IS, ES, GS and LS, and I know you have an HS in the family
