Haha over at Porsche configurator, you would be amazed at what you can do with the interior.

Anything from Carbon Fiber, Alcantara.....and you can even opt for A/C vents in leather.

Then you have features like PASM, Sport Chrono and even the Burmester audio system.....

Default Porsche Cayman GT4 unveiled in Geneva

Costs €85,779 in Germany, $84,600 in U.S.

Porsche has introduced the Cayman GT4 at the Geneva Motor Show where it's on display alongside the 911 GT3 RS.

Unlocking the full potential of the Cayman, this new GT4 version has been long awaited by fans of the model but obviously it doesn't come cheap as pricing kicks off in Germany at €85,779 and from $84,600 in United States. In return for this serious chunk of change, customers will be rewarded with a flat-six 3.8-liter engine developing 385 HP (283 kW) and 420 Nm (310 lb-ft) transferred to the rear axle via a six-speed manual transmission only.

This hardcore Cayman needs 4.4 seconds to accomplish the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) journey and 14.5 seconds from a standstill to 124 mph (200 km/h) before hitting a maximum speed of 183 mph (295 km/h). It stops efficiently thanks to a 911 GT3-sourced braking system while the beefier body hosts larger vents, beefier bumpers and spoilers along with a fixed rear wing.

Lowered by 30mm, the Porsche Cayman GT4 has managed to lap the Nürburgring in 7 minutes and 40 seconds and will reach dealerships at the end of the month. At an additional cost, clients will be able to add carbon ceramic brakes, carbon fiber reinforced plastic seats as well as Sport Chrono and Club Sport packages.

Looks great except the rear wing, which I think should be painted black, but I am sure it will be a blast to drive with the manual gearbox.

I don't think this can be a practical road car, as it will probably not clear most speed bumps lol ...

Default Porsche considering more powerful and lighter Cayman GT4 RS

Depends on the customers demand

Porsche executive has hinted a more hardcore version of the Cayman GT4 could be launched in the future.

Speaking to EVO at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, Porsche Motorsport boss Andreas Preuninger revealed the company could produce an RS variant of the Cayman GT4 if there’s a customers demand for it.

“This is just the beginning of the era”, he commented. “I would be interested in doing a Cayman GT4 RS version, but at the moment we didn’t even talk about such a thing. If the customers call for something like this we could think about it”.

The recently introduced Cayman GT4 has a 3.8-liter flat-six engine with 385 HP (283 kW) and 420 Nm (310 lb-ft), sent to the rear axle via a six-speed manual transmission only. Preuninger explained the company’s decision to offer the car exclusively with a manual gearbox was taken “for good reason – to show people that we listened”.

Is that why the 911 GT3 RS only comes in PDK? Because people wanted it?

No, I think what he meant is that the Cayman GT4 gets a manual because they are listening to the complaints on the PDK only 911 GT3

Default First Video Review Of New Cayman GT4 Contains Serious Amount Of Fun

Chris Harris delivers one of the first video reviews of the much anticipated -and my personal Geneva hero- Cayman GT4.

The compact mid-engined Porsche has always lived in the 911’s shadow, in order to keep things simple and in order. But now Porsche has finally spiced-up properly the little Cayman, making the GT4 one of the most eagerly anticipated sports cars of the year.

As Chris Harris explains it on his latest video, the Cayman GT4 is a Cayman with a Carrera S engine, sprinkled with GT3 bits all over it. But the most intriguing part of the recipe sits between the carbon buckets; that’s right, the Cayman GT4 is available with a manual gearbox and only that, and everyone who was moaning about its absence in the 911 GT3 can now place an order for its little brother.

Does it deliver? Head to the video and watch for yourself.

Matt Prior tests the new Porsche Cayman GT4, which gets 380bhp from its 3.8-litre flat six engine, to answer one simple question - is this the greatest Cayman ever made?

Default Porsche denies rumors of Cayman GT4 RS, but could eventually happen

"Never say never"

Porsche's GT division boss Andreas Preuninger has flat-out denied rumors about a GT4 RS version of the current generation Cayman.

Last week we heard from EVO that Porsche is cooking up a Cayman GT4 RS but in reality this is unlikely to happen in this generation since "it's not been discussed, definitely not - not even the idea has come up." However, Preuninger didn't entirely rule out the possibility of creating an even more hardcore Cayman, but not in the near future since Porsche has a lot of projects in development.

Preuninger went on to specify that Porsche has to be very careful with each ongoing project they have since their staff and resources are limited so they "can't do everything, even when people tell us to." He did leave the door a little bit open for a Cayman GT4 RS after telling Car & Driver "never say never."

Default Watch New Cayman GT4 Do a Perfect 0-240 km/h Launch

Not too long ago, it would have been very difficult to have a serious conversation with somebody while trying to justify buying a Porsche Cayman over its 911 sibling. Ah, good times.

This, the Cayman GT4 is as you know, a 380 HP flat-six engined beast, with plenty of 911 GT3 components which help it get from 0 to 100km/h (62mph) in 4.4 seconds.

That's really fast, especially considering the fact that the Cayman GTS PDK would need 4.8 seconds to hit the same mark.

Watching the GT4 accelerate is a real rush. It feels pure and it sounds raw and unfiltered - which will make any driver feel that there's more of a connection between himself and the car.

Even with the loss of traction off the line, this was one seriously good launch. The gear changes weren't as quick as humanly possible but that's because it's got a 6-speed manual and "humanly possible" isn't really trending anymore when you've got computers doing things much faster than you ever could.

Still, we love this car and by the looks of it so does everybody else.

It's not so much a replacement for the 997 "manual" GT3 (which many people missed having around), as it is an alternative for those who want more of an analog experience behind the wheel of their state of the art sports car.

wasn't the original 987C so good that they had to 'retard' the car so as to not step on the 911's shoes?
