Default Would you buy the extended warranty on a Camry V6?

About a month ago I was looking at something fun to replace my '12 4cyl Camry (about anything would be better right?). I was looking at the G37 AWD, IS350 AWD or a V6 Camry. I just don't want to spend so much per month on the G37 or IS. We owned a 2007 V6 SE Camry when they first came out and my wife and I loved that car but needed an SUV for our growing family. Our local Toyota dealer where we bought our '07 from has a 2011 SE V6 with only 43k miles on it. I checked the Carfax and it is a 1 owner and all maintenance has been performed up to this point. My question is, they were talking about an extended warranty for 3 years and an additional 45k miles and it would cost $1600. Would you do it? I'm on the fence about it because, I mean it is a Toyota and all the maintenance has been done and even new tires were put on at 35k miles. It would only raise my payment $25 but I want to get this thing paid off as soon as possible. Thanks for the help!

I would check the Toyotanation forums for that generation Camry and see if there any major problems you should be worried about. I don't remember anything off the top of my head. I dont think youll need to buy the warranty.

Honestly, check out out some recall info as well as some peoples problems with the camry V6. Last I remember they were using the 2GR-FE engine which was pretty reliable.

Unless there is some expensive electronics you are concerned about, I would not. You know that all maintenance services have been performed and reliability is historically great.

Thanks everyone. Pulled the trigger and bought the 2011 SE V6. I did not get the extended warranty. Boy I missed the v6 in these things after having the 4cyl for a couple of years. Glad to stay in the Toyota family.

If Lotus can tune the engine for their sportcars, you shouldn't worry.

Yepe, these Camry and Accord are stupidly reliable, they are like Zombies.....so no need for Affordable Health Care, or, just no extended warranty.

My buddy has an 09 V6 Camry with 125k give or take, only oil changes every 5k, everything else is factory, put the 1600 in savings

Yeah, really not worth it for an extended warranty on a Toyota/Lexus.
