Hyundai Motor America says its February sales of 49,003 were down 6 percent from the same period 1 year ago but are still up 11 percent over January.

"I don't like to make excuses, but the awful weather we saw across the country really hurt traffic to our dealerships and ultimately kept our sales at a pace well below what we were expecting," said Bob Pradzinski, vice president of sales. "They say ‘If you want to see the sunshine you have to weather the storm,' so we're all looking forward to some sunshine in March."

Despite a tough month, Hyundai saw sales of its 2 smallest cars, Accent and Veloster, up 20 percent and two CUVs, Santa Fe and Tucson, up 12 percent.

Sales of the Montgomery built Sonata were down 30 percent from the same time last year, while the Elantra was up 1 percent.

Great to see the IS selling well!
They are everywhere in NYC and mostly Fsport.

Imo car looks incredible in person and really like nothing else in its price range. Great design overall and the best one from Lexus in long time.

GS - good to see its at least keeping its monthly volume at low to mid - 1,000s. Plus its off to a better start than last yr.
I think a refresh will improve sales even more.

GX - wow great #s

Lexus has good momentum going right now - the new RC and NX will be big hits......Then GS refresh plus new LS in 2015/6.

Wow X5 sales are down by 25% over last year, is that due to poor demand or poor inventory?

Nissan is cranking up the incentives games. There was an interesting article about it in last month's Business week:

Poor inventory. I'm not sure what's hobbling the roll out.
