For Ford/Lincoln fans...the product-development schedule for the next three years.
Here's a (rough) chart for what we can expect to see from Ford and Lincoln, on a broad scale, for the next three years or so.

Thanks, Hoovey.
I think the Continental addition next year and the Aviator in 2019 (if they keep to this schedule) will be interesting. The Continental and Cadillac CT6 should be debuting at just about the same time......IMO an especially interesting matchup. Both of them should give Ford and GM, if not an equal match-up with the S-class/7-series/A8, at least credible if somewhat lower-cost competitors.

Very interesting. Of note is that those years refer to the year in which it will take place and not the model year it affects(2016's are already on the lots).
I wonder what the new Fusion will look like in 2019.

It will probably be hard to beat the current Fusion. Ford did an excellent job with it, inside and out. It's a shame, IMO, that we couldn't get a Mercury version of it.........its current upmarket partner, the Lincoln MKS, is not impressive at all in my book.

Given the mediocre sales of the present one (mainly to law enforcement and a few rental firms), there may (?) not be another Taurus at all. And, as I just replied to BrettJacks above, much of the Taurus's former thunder was stolen by the current (and superb) Fusion.

MKZ is the Lincoln Fusion. MKS is the Lincoln Taurus.

I wouldn't take that chart to heart. I don't see redesigns of the Explorer and Mustang coming that fast. These vehicles have traditionally lingered much longer than the span shown there.

True, but in today's dog-eat-dog competitive marketplace, the pressures for relatively quick redesigns are enormous. Of course, any schedule will probably depend on enough money being available for it....that could change with time.

Probably means significant mechanical changes but no(or few) aesthetic changes.
They refreshed the Mustang's design in 2010, but replaced the engine line-up in 2011.
Same with the F-150.

The Taurus was originally a mid-sized vehicle, and discontinued in 2006, replaced by the Fusion. They release the new Five Hundred as a full-size car and rebadged it as the Taurus a few years later because it wasn't selling.
