2015 Volvo XC90 priced from $65,000 to $135,000
Saw the news today and I will be really surprsied if Volvo does sell the XC90 for over $100k:
2015 Volvo XC90 US Pricing: from $65,000 to $135,000
However the news source is from the wall street journal, looks like it is credible. One thing I do not like the 2015 XC90 is, it puts a 4-cylinder engine in it with an electric motor, and give it the "T8" name, which clearly intents to make people link it to be something like "V8" - if you know people likes V8, why not just put a V8, or at least a V6 + electric motor?

Of course this pricing info is not fully confirmed by Volvo, but from my point of view, $65,000 for a XC90 sounds OK; but I am really skeptical that how many people are willing to buy a $135,000 XC90.

Can't deny that the technology and craftsmanship seem to make the new XC90 a credible CUV, but that price tag may be the nail in the coffin for Volvo. They're jumping over Lexus RX and GX, BMW X5, Mercedes ML, Acura MDX, Infiniti QX60 with that price, and all of those are very established competitors in this segment.
FYI, the current XC90 starts at $39,700... so the new one is more than a $25k price jump. If this is pricing information is true, its going to be DOA, which is very sad.

The U.S. pricing will NOT be starting at $65,000, but some versions, especially that 400HP plug-in will extend far past today's model, but i think it's pretty apparent that it's also delivering far more product than today's XC90.

hopefully thats the case... unfortunately Volve has pretty high pricing right now for their loaded vehicles... Question is if buyers will recognize added value and if they think that Volvo is luxury brand, so far it is a tough sell.

Yah its not going to start at 65k. Said person probably got eu/uk pricing and did a simple conversion. Said person probably failed to realize that cars across the pond have taxes figured into the msrp.
Im guessing its going to start around 45-48k.
