Land Rover sees 4-month wait for new models, running plant 24-hours a day
Land Rover is, as they say, on a roll. The British luxury off-road brand seemingly can't put a wheel wrong, releasing only its fourth all-new Range Rover and its second-generation Range Rover Sport last year, both of which have come in for rave reviews. Before that, it was the Range Rover Evoque, which successfully moved the Range Rover name downmarket and gave a shot in the arm to the brand's styling.
As a result of these moves, the brand's UK factory is reportedly running 24 hours a day, five days a week, with would-be buyers of the most luxurious and expensive models, the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport, are waiting up to four months to get their SUVs. "Depending on where you are in the country, I would say the average is about a four-month wait right now for those products," Kim McCullough, the brand's vice president, told Edmunds.
The wait times should go down, though, according to McCullough. Production is "getting up to a point where we are producing enough vehicles to meet demand," after an unknown production issue.
Range Rover sales in 2013 saw a 56-percent increase, with 12,221 SUVs finding homes with US buyers, while the brand's overall US sales jumped 15 percent, to over 50,000 units. "It is amazing how many people have owned five, six, seven Range Rovers," McCullough told Edmunds. "That is a vehicle they consistently have in their household fleet. We have a lot of loyalty."

Tata influence paying off Loving the resurgence of JLR!!!
From Reuters:
From Reuters:
British-based managers credit their new Indian owners with providing the capital needed for JLR to expand - especially in China - while avoiding the sort of overseas micro-management that they say stifled the company under Ford.

Jaguar and LR dont sell that many cars WW, so i guess this is bad planning from their US unit.
Found an recent article:

So i guess they are growing and expanding, but brands such as Jaguar and Land Rover, with great cars and options they have, should be selling million cars today.

Jaguar Land Rover smashed its annual sales records during 2013 as global demand soared.
Britain’s biggest car-maker said it had sold 425,006 vehicles – a 19 per cent increase on 2012 – and had set sales records in 38 international markets.

Independent industry analyst Howard Wheeldon said: ‘The brand success of Jaguar Land Rover over the past three years has been as phenomenal as it has been well deserved. With a workforce that is clearly hugely supportive and right behind what management is attempting to achieve, there is no reason why in five years’ time this fine company will not be announcing that it sold over one million cars.’

24 hours a day?
Are there UK factories operating a night-shift (or graveyard shift)?
I doubt that JLR would let machines do 100% of the work at night (because even in a fully-automated and machine-operated assembly line, you still need human beings)

I had this conversation with a LR salesman at the car show last week. He says you cannot even get a RRS to test drive they are so hot....
Really like both it and the new RR.
