These things are just way overpriced, like all Porsche models IMO. I was in their dealership the other day, they had a grey Turbo Macan in the showroom. I don't remember the exact options, it had the sports package, big wheel/tire package, and the sport seats. $105,000 I don't know how they got the MSRP so high.

More power to them if they can get people to pay the IMO ridiculous amount of $$$$.

My brother picked up a 2015 Macan turbo on Monday for his birthday.

The new LX is gonna be nice, but yes if the Cayenne felt soft he's in a more sporty place right now. I've had my Macan about 18 months and still smile big every time I twist the key.

PORSCHE ANNOUNCES NEW YORK AUTO SHOW LINE-UP

North American debut of Porsche 911 R, 718 Boxster, and Macan

Atlanta, Georgia. The New York International Auto Show will be host to three North American debuts for Porsche this year. The 911 R and the 718 Boxster both represent the latest interpretation of driving pleasure and dynamics in their respective segments. The 911 R is a pure, uncompromised driving machine with a naturally-aspirated, 500 horsepower engine mounted in the rear. The 718 Boxster features extensive chassis enhancements and an all-new turbocharged, mid-mounted flat-four cylinder engine. The 718 Boxster is powered by a 2.0 liter engine developing 300 horsepower, while the 718 Boxster S utilizes a 2.5 liter powerplant making 350 horsepower. The third debut, the Macan, is driven by a sporty and highly efficient turbocharged 2.0 liter inline-four cylinder engine.

Four Macan Models Now Available
Porsche is expanding its line-up of compact SUVs with a new variant of the Macan. Following the introduction of the Macan S, Macan Turbo, and most recently the Macan GTS models, the four-cylinder turbocharged engine in this model is tailored for use in the sports car of the SUV segment. As is characteristic for all Porsche models, the Macan is capable of converting its engine power into impressive driving dynamics using the standard active all-wheel drive with Porsche Traction Management PTM, as well as the agile suspension and precise steering. Air suspension with load-leveling control and the PASM system with adaptive dampers are optionally available. Weighing only 3,902 pounds, the Macan is the lightest SUV made by Porsche, which translates into particularly agile handling.

Sporty turbocharged four-cylinder
The new inline-four engine is designed to be sporty and efficient. It operates with up to 14 PSI of boost pressure, charge-air cooling, direct injection, and variable valve timing. VarioCam Plus adapts the intake and exhaust camshaft continually and also controls the lift of the exhaust valves. Thanks to 252 hp from 5,000 to 6,800 rpm and 273 pound-feet of torque available between 1,600 rpm and 4,500 rpm, overtaking maneuvers are completed confidently.

Like all other Macan models, the turbocharged 2.0 liter engine in the Macan is connected to a standard seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission featuring Auto Start Stop technology. Acceleration from 0 to 60 mph is completed in 6.1 sec with the optional Sport Chrono Package featuring Launch Control. Top track speed is 142 mph. In terms of fuel consumption, the new Macan proves to be particularly efficient with an estimated improvement of up to 18 percent compared to the Macan S. Fuel economy values from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency are 25 miles per gallon on the highway, 20 mpg in the city, and 22 mpg combined.

Extensive level of standard equipment
Visually and in terms in of equipment, there is little that separates the new Macan from the rest of the family. Distinguishing exterior characteristics are matte black window surrounds and brake calipers in black, while the unique dual exhaust pipes are finished in stainless steel. The front fascia and lava black side blades match the Macan S. The Macan comes standard with Bi-Xenon™ headlights, 8-way power front seats, seat centers in Alcantara®, the newest generation of Porsche Communication Management (PCM), Piano Black interior package, and a lane departure warning system.

The 2017 Macan is available to order now with deliveries expected in July 2016. The Macan starts at $47,500, excluding delivery, processing, and handling fee of $1,050.

Default Porsche Macan Turbo Gets 434HP Courtesy Of New Performance Package

Porsche has announced a new Performance package for the range-topping Macan Turbo, adding a bit more poke to an already seriously fast crossover.

The twin-turbo 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine now delivers 434hp (440PS), almost 40hp more than the standard Turbo model, with peak torque risen to 442lb-ft (600Nm) which represents a 37lb-ft increase. The 0-62mph (0-100km/h) sprint now takes just 4.4 seconds, 0.4 of a second faster, while top speed is set at 169mph (272km/h).

Moving on to the chassis, the new Performance package adds 30 mm larger brake discs at the front, measuring 390mm in diameter, which are gripped by six-piston calipers. The suspension now offers a 15mm lower ride height, with the optional self-levelling air suspension also lowered by 10mm. The Sports Chrono Package and sports exhaust system are offered as standard.

The new Porsche Macan Turbo with the Performance package is also offered with a new range of equipment options, including the Turbo Exterior Package with 21-inch 911 Turbo wheels, LED main headlights with the company’s Dynamic Light System Plus. Also available is the Turbo Interior package which adds a black leather interior with Alcantara elements, colour appliqué highlights and carbon details.

Customers can now order the new range-topping Porsche Macan in the UK and Ireland, with prices set from £68,073 and €122,512 respectively. First deliveries are expected toward the end of the year.

Default TechArt Boosts Porsche Macan To 480PS & Cayenne To 720PS [w/Video]


If you thought Porsche's SUV lineup needed even more power, Techart has just released new powerkits that boost the Macan and Cayenne flagship models by a considerable amount.

The powerkits are available for the entire range of Macan and Cayenne SUVs, but if you're most interested in just how much power Techart has managed to extract out of those engines, well, it's 480 PS and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque for the Macan Turbo and a whooping 720 PS and 920 Nm (678 lb-ft) for the Cayenne Turbo S.

Responsible for the Macan Turbo's power gain is the Techart Techtronic kit (€3,900) that's integrated into the vehicle's CAN data bus system. With its help, the Macan Turbo will now hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.4 seconds (4.6 s factory standard), with an increased top speed of 274 km/h (170 mph).

For the Cayenne Turbo S, aside from the Techtronic engine management, the tuner also included new turbochargers, exhaust manifolds, oil and water lines and sport air filters - developed especially for this powerkit (€24,500). At its best, the Cayenne Turbo S can now reach 311 km/h (193 mph), instead of the factory standard 284 km/h (176 mph).

As expected, purchasing the powerkit for the larger Porsche SUV is more expensive, however, the prices do not include VAT and installation.

"The power output of a genuine Techart powerkit is reliable, durable and repeatable. We do not announce generalized power promises in percentage statements. During the development of the individual engine map, we can predict the maximum power output which will still maintain long-term operation without overstressing engine and drivetrain. This procedure and a power increase rating in absolute numbers is a basic requirement for a EC type approval," said Moritz Renner, Techart automotive mechatronics engineer.

In order to activate the permanent power boost while on the go, the driver simply needs to switch from Normal to Sport/Sport Plus mode by using either the standard Sport button situated on the center console or the Mode Selector on the steering wheel.
