Yes and no. Copying looks meh, if anything they need to copy interior build quality and materials which on a base C-Class you know is going to be poor

Mercedes design is leaving a lot to be desired lately, and seems to be having a hard time finding the line of "just right" between overstyled and underwhelming. Cars like the CLS, CLA, E Class and SLS all have a little too much going on with unnecessary creases, flares and character lines. On the flipside, the new S Class and this new C Class look a little too sedate and lacking in personality.

Oh well.

I would have to disagree. I think mercedes has been on a roll with all of their vehicles. and seeing all the high sales numbers they have been getting these past few years, I think many would agree with me

Default 2014/2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Thread

Interior was revealed today. Also included an exterior shot from the teaser. I LOVE it. Also check out the fact that Airmatic is an option! Definitely didn't see air suspension coming on this class of car.

Via Worldcarfans
Mercedes-Benz has published a small batch of photos showing the interior cabin of the all-new C-Class (W205), following a teaser video released last weekend.

Several hours ago we posted the very first pics with the V-Class and now Mercedes-Benz is showing the interior of the fourth-gen C-Class which is due in January at NAIAS in Detroit. The cabin design follows the recent trend of Mercedes-Benz models, boasting a refined layout (with the exception of the touchscreen display) and a premium finish. It will be offered as standard with a 7-inch free-standing central display or an optional 8.4-inch color monitor along with an optional head-up display and a touch-controlled pad.

People inside will benefit from an innovative AC system which uses GPS data to detect tunnels to automatically close the air recirculation flap so that fume filled air won't enter the cabin. The new C-Class will also have a front passenger seat featuring a sensor which will disengage the front passenger airbag once it detects a child seat is in place.

Mercedes-Benz says the 2014 C-Class will have a "best in class" weight and an "unparalleled" structural integrity for this segment. Depending on selected engine, the new model will be up to 100 kg (220 lbs) lighter than its predecessor which will bring a 20 percent fuel consumption reduction without affecting power.

Also depending on engine choice will be the possibility to order an optional Airmatic air suspension which will allow the driver to choose between Comfort, ECO, Sport and Sport Plus modes that will alter damper settings. The system also comes with a self-leveling feature lowering the car's ride height during highway speeds in order to reduce fuel consumption and improve aerodynamics.

Expect more teasers and info to be released in the upcoming weeks to create a momentum for the car's Detroit arrival in January.

No, it does not fold away like the screen in the pre-facelift W204. To be truthful, I never understood why Mercedes used a fold away screen for that car and why Audi still does. The only time the screen isn’t up is when you turn off the car. With the way these infotainment systems are integrated you basically need the screen for everything.

Personally, the interior looks cleaner when the screen folds away. They don't look like they were just bolted onto the interior at the last minute or like some aftermarket mount.

can we take the screen outside the car, like an ipad? Since thats how it looks... otherwise, it is good looking, cockpit like.

Lol. Mercedes is implementing the design across the board. Currently the CLA, this car, and the G-wagen have it. The upcoming GLA and CLS facelift will have it as well. Overall, I think BMW implemented their stationary screen better.

No, although that would be cool. One thing I’d be worried about is thieves actually thinking it’s an iPad and trying to steal it out of the car.
