your opening statement is rather dated.
The CTS is a GS competitor. And it's outright performance is a joke for a TT 3.6L V6.

Just like the Taurus SHO with a TT 3.5L V6. Barely faster then the NA 3.5L Camry V6

And this guy even launches it! This is absolutely unacceptable for a 3.5L V6 with two frggin turbochargers attached to it! Abysmal!

Camry V6. Smooth & strong pulling power. Imagine what adding twin turbochargers would do!

Car and Driver tested the CTS TT and recorded 4.4 seconds 0-60. This car isn't a Camry competitor.

But having said that it really isn't fair to hit on these cars because some people can ONLY afford these cars.
Something tells me the troll is strong in this guy. You list a Corolla followed by an Alpina B7 and Aston Martin Rapide as your cars as well in your sig. This combined with the above quoted post and you come across as a 15 year old boy craving attention.

I think you're right.

But even if he were who he says he was, I still hate car snobs.

How is 420hp and a 4.4sec 0-60 time an outright joke? And please stop doing these stupid displacement arguments.

This thread is quite a bit off-topic.

The last-gen 200 is a pre-bankruptcy Chrysler product, from a time when they were still building PT Cruisers. The 300 is still built on an ancient Mercedes platform, though, and that's probably the only reason it has a good reputation, because if Chrysler had engineered it, it would also have been quite an awful car.

The current-gen 200 is based on a Fiat-Chrysler platform. Fiat specializes in small cars, so it should be at least a decent entry in the segment.

Virtually everything that Chrysler redesigns these days is substantially better. After all, the only direction that most of them could go, after decades, was up.

With all due respect, that statement is out of date now, by at least several years. One cannot compare many of the American-badged vehicles of today with those up to the buyouts/reorganizations. Like it or not, those reorganizations have led to substantially better American-badged vehicles, although some of the best today are actually done on reworked European/Asian platforms like the Dodge Dart (Alfa Romeo platform), Buick Verano/Regal (Opel platforms), Ford Focus/Escape (European Ford platforms), and Dodge Charger/Challenger/Chrysler 300 (E-Class Mercedes platform).

Guess I should go sell my POS then.

Really dislike statements like these. Generalization that is not accurate. Yes, Detroit has put out some really s****y vehicles in the past. They still have a few that aren't stellar, but are ok.

Japan is not immune to poor design. I'd take just about any vehicle we've ever owned(mostly American) over the 99 Sienna my dad has. Talk about a POS(it was only a few years old when we bought it, but has had a lot of stuff break). Despite being well cared for, it smokes like a fat redneck woman in a trailer park.

It does, I was big into DSM's many years ago and this has always been my username. Original, I know.

yes, but lets remember that 2012 200, or whatever was the first one, also got good reviews from media to start with... they always do.
