Is it jsut me or have all SUV's slowly morphed into the same jellybean sightly taller than a stationwgon look. Just not my cup of tea. The only SUV that is still ok is the Grand Cherokee.

You're confusing crossover and SUV.

The Grand Cherokee has the same shape as the Infiniti QX, Lexus GX & LX, Mercedes-Benz GL, BMW X5, Chevy Tahoe, etc etc etc.

it's about time to have a redesigned Q7, current one was out way back in 2006.

I'm sure it will be excellent. I love the Q7. The interior is beyond sick.

I had the first Q7 that reached our dealers in northern NJ. It was only available in a V8 at the time. Wonderful vehicle. Sporty as hell. Wonderful interior. Then everything starting breaking. Tranny broke and the dealer couldn't fix it (supposedly a software issue). Tailgate had faulty struts and collapsed, almost taking my head off (there was a recall on that and about 10 other things). Fuel pump failed at exactly 25,000 miles. Apparently, it's normal on a Q7. I loved driving every minute while I had the Q7. When it was back at the dealership (which was quite often) was when it wasn't fun.

I guess what I'm trying to get at is this, Audi, build it and build it well. Reliability is the reason why I will never go back to your brand ever again for the foreseeable future.

Default 2015 Audi Q7 Spied Hot Weather Testing

Audi is taking in some sun out in Spain with the latest version of the Q7 SUV, and our spy photographers managed to snap some shots.

The new Q7 is expected to stay the same physical size but it will drop up to 800 pounds which will go a long way when it comes to performance and fuel economy. The 2015 Q7 will arrive in late 2014 riding on an all-new platform that will eventually be spread out to other Volkswagen brand vehicles, namely the Porsche Cayenne, VW Touareg and the upcoming Bentley SUV.

The range of engines is expected to to include 3.0 and 4.0-liter TFSI units and a 3.0-liter TDI. A plug-in hybrid model is also expected to available with the Q7.

Default 2015 Audi Q7 spied up close in Germany

Could be introduced later this year

The 2015 Audi Q7 is inching closer to production as our spies have snapped some new pictures of the model at the company's Nürburgring testing facility.

Dressed in swirly camouflage, the redesigned crossover appears less rounded than its predecessor. The front fascia is heavily disguised we can see a prominent grille that is flanked by large air intakes and LED-infused headlights. The changes are more noticeable further back as there's a shorter rear overhang and a more angular tailgate.

Audi has been relatively coy about the model but the company's head of technical development has already confirmed it will ride on the MLB Evo platform and be significantly lighter than its predecessor. Nothing is official but some reports have indicated the model could drop as much as 800 lbs (363 kg).

Engine options will likely include the usual suspects, so expect a variety of six- and eight-cylinder petrol and diesel units. There could also be an entry-level 2.0-liter four-cylinder TDI and a fuel-efficient plug-in hybrid variant.
Audi has previously announced plans to introduce the next-generation Q7 by the end of 2015 and some reports have indicated it could be unveiled later this year.
