I guess they dont want to "mess with a good thing" in the looks dept?
honestly cant tell much difference in these and its original release to the untrained eye...
sure there are small things here and there but overall the same looking car.
i guess its all about the power/drivetrain for these...glad to see some interior upgrading though!

But definitely yeah, Nissan raises the bar which each new update throughout the car's entire production life cycle.

Oh and that NISMO version is killer.

Heck, even the regular 'normal' GT-R is still mind-blowing.
I have driven two of them and I can only describe the acceleration and " VIOLENT". It will hit redline faster than you can realize you need to shift

I'm glad Nissan offers the GTR between the performance and the constant upgrades from Nissan and the aftermarket I will say this car far exceeds what I thought it would be when I first heard about it coming stateside.

Front bumper almost exactly like the GT500 car

VS.

And the rear wing has shark teeth like the GT500 Super GT car as well

VS.

Default Did Nissan send a ringer GT-R to run the 'Ring?

Did Nissan send a ringer GT-R to run the 'Ring?

It turns out that after toting a 7:08 time around the fearsome Nürburgring Nordschleife for the new Nismo-tuned GT-R, Nissan might not have been entirely honest about the car it was using. From what we've been hearing from a few different publications, the GT-R featured in the video isn't what we're going to see on the production model.

PistonHeads reported on the so-called "Time Attack" GT-R while it was in Japan for the Tokyo Motor Show, going so far as to detail the differences between it and the standard GT-R Nismo. And friends, this isn't just a matter of swapping tires. The mods made to the Time Attack car are far more comprehensive.

For a start, the TA produces more downforce thanks to larger aerodynamic pieces. It's some 110 pounds lighter than the standard car, thanks to new bucket seats. The ECU and dampers have been swapped for new units, and the brake pads are different as well. If you've read this far, you might be feeling slightly angry or betrayed that Nissan is toting numbers for a modified car. Don't be.

These items will be offered on customer-spec GT-R Nismos, so really, Nissan withheld rather than outright misled. And as it turns out, those new dampers are actually softer than the standard Nismo, thanks to the bumpy track surface in Germany. Still, it kind of shows off the fact that Nürburgring times shouldn't be taken as gospel, at least on new models that haven't even gotten into the hands of customers or independent testers. Buyer beware - if you're basing your entire purchase on some arbitrary time from a strip of asphalt on the other side of the planet - we guess.

Non-story. Autoblog is either suffering from memory loss or trying to gather hits. The first time they ran the Nismo GTR piece, they detailed how theres OPTIONAL parts on the version that ran the Nurburgring. Now they make another article claiming its a ringer?

So much hate when the GTR did low 7s. Nobody believed it at first, and now they are saying that the production vehicle wont be that same one because of accessory ? WHAT ? You mean there is no way to get a sub 200k car be that good? Comon, Nissan had done it, and will do again. Place your order, and the only reason the car wont make it = bad driver.

I matched this time in Gran Turismo 5 on PS3 with the power set for 600hp and the downforce cranked all the way up. My straightaway speed was a bit low though, wasn't quite hitting 310 km/h at the end of the long final straight (280's), so either too much downforce, or maybe the "600hp" is a bit more than that? LOL

I think they should revisit that front air damn design... in black, not so bad, but most other colors... looks very bulky.... unaerodynamic. Definitely not as refined as say a Porsche or Audi front facia.

It is legendary stuff that the car look muscular, unaerodynamic, and still pulling all those good stuff
