Really? It's been in the cards for awhile now it seems. With the news that the NX turbo will produce 237hp, publications are coming out and saying the IS is capable of closer to 250hp. This mill makes a good base engine for the GS and also lowers the price which will help its sales and possibly fuel economy too. Also a 237-250hp engine puts it right in line with the GS300 and it's 3.0L V6 245hp.

Perhaps I've been too focused on that engine for the IS and NX, but no, I hadn't read anything about it going in the GS. Nice development.

1. Lexus is very quiet about things like this so no suprise. 2. 4GS is already forgotten somewhat by the interwebz, and the IS, RC and NX are prime examples of why no one talks of the GS currently. This year 2014 is the IS, RC and NX's year. 2015 We'll see some new powertrains on the '16 models, and so far we are expecting next year to be all about the RX. (possible GS full spindle and LS redesign as well but too early to tell on those)

2.0t will likely end up in every Lexus model somewhere in the world... RX most definitely as well.

Yes. In fact it was either China or Austrailia iirc that trademarked RX200t (maybe both )

considering CT is coming in 2016, i doubt it will get it before then...

Hoovey - 6AT or 8AT for turbo? We see people driving it in the US and anyone driving it can see the number when they shift to sports mode :-)

It's about time. Sending out the 3IS without this engine was a blunder.
Now, with the expected 2.0t output, this is going to infringe on the 3.5 motor. So, now the 3.5 needs attention next. I'm sure we'll be seeing updates to it in the next few years. Raise one bar and you have to raise the other to keep them apart (as other companies have already done).

So with the 2.0t coming into play, it makes me think if the GS will actually get a price cut. What do you all think? Lesser motor, lesser output, less speed should mean a lower sticker as it has in other cars, right?

14 engines are getting updates with new technologies in 2015 according to Toyota... 14 is a lot but we dont know what it means (yet).

Wow if the GS gets it great move..

Thjng is I just drove a F30 328 and it was tuned and I'm sorry I prefer less hp and 6 cylinders. Consumera don't seem to care much or they can step up.

I agree with you but how does one explain that there are 3IS 250's all over LA? They seem to be selling/leasing like hot cakes. Very few 350's. I wouldn't call it a blunder unless there was some way to determine if 3x as many IS 250's could've been sold with the 2.0.
