That'll change over time as Western Europe is coming to their senses and realizing that diesels in small passenger vehicles aren't a great mix when it comes to air pollution.

My hometown of Columbia, MO would really do well for Lexus. My understanding is that Lexus has thus far denied the big local dealership company (biggest in Missouri) from bringing the franchise to town - despite having extremely successful Mercedes and BMW dealers.
I would also deny anyone who carries competitor product within the certain radius as well. They do not care about the product they care about meeting the goals set by certain manufacturer to get extra benefits/avoid penalties or the highest profit margin when all goals are met.

But as a consumer I would love that! There is a joint BMW - Audi dealership in South Florida that just proves how wrong is to have something like this if you are a manufacturer but how good it is to be a consumer. My friend wanted to get a 3 series but he ended up going to Audi next door because BMW guy told him that he should check out a crazy lease rate for A4. Yes A4 was cheaper but my friend still wanted a 3 no matter what until Audi guy came back at him on the phone while he was in Bimmer sales office and told him he got a deal for him - $300/month all expenses included for fully loaded four banger A4! BMW was not mad at all nor did he even try to counter that as I'm sure he got a cut on this one or he is ok with company's' priorities at the exact moment which was to move A4 inventory.

Anyone see the facelifted LX at a dealer meeting yet?
I really like the look of the current LX, i hope they don't go crazy spindle on it and give it a weird face with even lower bumpers.

I have to disagree. The days of automotive diesel engines typically emitting black soot out the tailpipe are long gone....and even with invisible pollutants as well. That is why low-sulfur diesel fuel and the urea-injection treatments were developed. In fact, low-sulfur diesel fuel was developed IN Western Europe.....coming to the U.S. mainly by a 2005 EPA mandate.

Interesting scenario. I'm sure they wanted to move the A4 since it will be refreshed soon and the 3 series is still fairly new. In any case, nice to see that they were all working together.

LC is small facelift with new diesel engine and safety sense... not sure if you saw that already.

I doubt that LX will be more than that.

I read about the 4 cylinder 2.8 diesel, you think this might be for the Prado instead?

nope, since facelift pic was of the LC200 and every article referenced LC200. Keep in mind that 2.8l diesel is all new and might get good output in both torque and mpg, which is important for many European countries.

On the other hand, LX will likely get 4.5l V8 diesel and both may get revised petrols as well.

Some japanese websites are saying the LX will be announced on the 17th of June. I would think it is next in line after the ES, correct?

UPDATE: 4/16/2015

This year
- IS200t and RC200t coming toward end of year (IS first)
- LX MMC will be similar to '13 LS major/minor, includes host of technology upgrades, full color HUD and Lexus Safety System +
- Ultra Luxury RX trim, pano roof option, we won't use the term 'autonomous' but let's just say steering and brakes can be regulated with hands in lap
- 3 row crossover still a year away
- 2017 LF-LC

On the Horizon
- 5LS supposed to take a page from 1989 LS400 and be 'World Class' not just best in class - Akio Toyoda personally invested in project

Seriously can't wait for the 5LS. I can't believe they've been so tight-lipped about it. Hope it lives up to the hype!
