same here. they look awesome and while sitting inside it's really nice. it just breaks so easily it's scary.

every single person i know with rr curse on the car (quality, problems, etc...). lx is insanely rock solid just on the "boring" side. g is great and one of the more solid mb imho

I agree. My friend got a brand new RR Sport a few years ago, broke down after a week. It was hilarious when you gotta keep it in the dealer for a month after owning it for a week. Quality of material is superb though, but reliability is a total b****.

Everyone seems to have a "friend" with a Range Rover that "breaks down". But based off personal experience (and what you see on the forums), the post 2010 problems are like:

-Surround view cameras inoperable
-Glitchy software (infotainment)
-keyless entry failure
-power tailgate failure
-inoperable panoroof

These are all definite reliability problems, but the engine/drivetrain items have been doing just fine. The air suspensions stopped malfunctioning long ago.

I can't tell if you forgot the meaning of the word "post" or if you were supporting my statement.

They made some minute changes directly after the facelift model debuted. LR is strangely a fan of doing very quiet running changes in the middle of the model year. They did some serious upgrading of the electrical architecture 6 months after the new RR debuted, for example.

Also on a few Chinese websites they had a list of vehicles being updated by Lexus this year and LX was mentioned as one of the vehicles..as well as it being mentioned in one of the US Lexus dealer meetings a few months ago

LX is getting released for the first time in Japan under the LEXUS name which means staff manuals could possibly leak on the web prior to release....
My guess is the on the exterior the LX will get the seperated DRL from the main lights like on the new Lexus vehicles as well as a full spindle grille and updated rear lights.

Possible hybrid and diesel for some markets as well as permanent supercharged variant in the LX range.
I think the LX will stay on its current platform till at least the 2019 model. I would be interested to a a new interior for the next model year.

neither, just thought it's funny how my friend struggled with the air suspension

bottom line, doesn't matter what the problem is, when overall rr goes into the shop the most for all kind of problems, it's a pretty big problem. just having the engine runs well is only a small part of the car.

yep, reflected in both surveys and used values, at least here in central Europe/Germany... all cars from JLR lose ridiculous amount of value after you buy them.

I am really curious about the future of GX. Will GX be replaced by the rumored TX? Or will the TX be an addition to the GX? Some people have suggested that the TX might be a sub-NX ute. Will the GX drop the body-on-frame design and become a crossover?

couple of my brothers have had range rovers, old and new and LOVE them. they both have old ones right now that don't have the tech mentioned above that breaks the new one one of them had until about a year ago was spectacular and no issues.

anyway, back to the future of lexus.

Wish Lexus would open up more dealerships. Both BMW and Mercedes are in the 300's in terms of number of US dealerships, Lexus in the 200's. Speaks well of Lexus though that they compete near the top of sales with far fewer dealerships.

My hometown of Columbia, MO would really do well for Lexus. My understanding is that Lexus has thus far denied the big local dealership company (biggest in Missouri) from bringing the franchise to town - despite having extremely successful Mercedes and BMW dealers.

Lexus actually has some of the highest profits per dealership in the industry. Its a great franchise to own...
