Hi MPLexus, where are you getting 3GR-FSE from? The article mentions 2GR-FSE but not 3GR-FSE...

In any case, this lends credence to article from Autonet.com.tw that was published week ago, that said no 3rd row, but slightly larger at extra 10cm lenght and 5cm wheelbase compared to 3RX. Engines worldwide will be 2.0t, 3.5 GR-FSE (310hp) and 450h with 300hp but 15% better fuel consumption.

There is also the 3.5L 2GR-FE in the ES 350 and existing RX.

as MPL said, current RX is missing F part - D4S and some 10% hp/torque... so that will be nice bump. It also means that they will implement that major rework of the engine as they started already with some 4cly and V8.

What article states is 3.5L GR-FSE and says it is the same as the IS. This makes it the 2GR-FSE.

Less than a year away. How come we aren't seeing any spy/mule photos?

I personally think we never see anything because they have a secret massive underground facility and racetrack under Mt. Fuji

Yeah, could be. It seems like we've seen NX stuff forever and it's still not out.

True. A local dealer had the RC F and NX for showing tonight. RC on Nov 3 and NX Nov 18 release respectively iirc

brand new models vs RX that has to sell 10k per month in the USA until new one is out.

So with brand new model, they show it early to build up awareness.... with new model replacing old, they release them late so they wont take out too much out of current model sales.

Also - in Japanese and Asian mags, we have seen mule shots already for quite a while.

Thank goodness for the new LX and RX, Lexus really needs to up their "refresh" game. All Lexus refreshes should be like the most recent LS refresh.

Will the LX be a facelift or a new generation?

Can't believe people are still confused by Toyota's very simple & concise engine nomenclature!

2 is the engine model (always 3.5L in GR's case), GR is the code of the engine family, F & E are fuel economy and S for direct injection

The terminology they used was 'redesign', but the way people use that and 'refresh' interchangeably makes it unclear what we are getting atm
