LOL if the A8 is in the long shadow of the S class imagine where the LS is ( especially in Europe ). In Europe Id say the LS isnt even in the light.

In person its easy to tell if its the A8, because the car is so freaking big, especially in the wheelbase(since most of them are the stretched version in this country).
Although I honestly can't tell an A6 from an A4 without looking at the badge most of the time, since the A4 is a lot bigger car than it used to be. Really I don't know why you'd buy an A6 over the seductive and sexy lines of the A7.
As for good colors on the A8, they make this sort of steel/grayish blue that looks really nice, especially with the dark brown leather interior with black accents.

The A8 looks like a boring, soulless appliance. Just look into its robotic eyes:
Headlights need round projectors. They need to convey emotion.

Id' say round lights are dated. The A8's lights look very modern and clean. The rest of the front is a bit strange. The vertical crease at the outer edges of the front give it a owl or frankenstein face look.
What's most admirable is the power and highway fuel economy numbers. I'd glady pilot this thing around if given to me.

The diesel is attractive to me…800+ miles on one tank? Like many though the exterior leaves me very cold and in person its not much better. Of course the interior is first rate. You have to credit their continuous updates to this car and it is selling better than the last generation. However fancy headlights do not indicate style.

I actually don't like the front end refresh compared to the 2013 A8...I feel that way about the A5 too...

I drove a 1991 Cadillac Brougham D'Elgance daily for 5 years(2005-2010). Just because you are driving by yourself most of the time doesn't mean take for you take for granted that huge back seat and trunk when you go golfing with a foursome. I actually love the size of a car like that extended wheelbase S-class, 750iL, A8 L.
Granted all those new German cars would put my old Caddy to shame in terms of driving dynamics. But for its time, that old 1991 Brougham would straight boogie if you pressed it(it had the tow package stiffer suspension)
Quite frankly the handling was a lot more nimble in that 91 Brougham than that boat *** 1995 Fleetwood I owned. That car quite frankly felt like a Ford 15 passenger van in the curves, the 91 Brougham was a much nicer driving car, despite it being A LOT slower in a straight line vs the 95. The 95 would straight haul *** if you turned the traction control off.

Once you drive an A8L you won't go back to the LS, trust me. I've been an LS owner since '98, I switched to a 2013 A8L last year and I'm not looking back. You can cruise in it or drive it like a race car. Truly exceptional drive.
