Default Year 2000 and newer cars....have they ever left you stranded?

My craziest experience was my 98 Acura TL. Drove from Miami to Atlanta on a cracked radiator. Was replaced under warranty at the time. The radiator exploded as I pulled into the dealer the following day.
Priceless.

does a dead battery count. If not my answer is no

anyone ever notice that cars never overheat anymore. I have been through that when I was in college but have never seen it again since

I said yes for my '05 Legacy GT. Thought it hasn't required a two, I went two weeks without it while I waited for a new transmission and then another 3 days without after that as one of the timing belt tensioners failed and required some time to diagnose. Pretty crappy when your job is ALL driving from place to place.

Nope, never needed a tow, or anything more than minimal wrenching in a parking lot to get any of my cars to fire.

Even my 92 Escort has been stone-solid for a year now. and the people before me never had any issues out of it either. I still cant believe it has the original wheel bearings, though it could do with a set of shocks soon I think. It only has 102,000 miles on it, and I have put 10,000 on it since I bought it.

My cars have all been 20+ years old, and my folks only have had one(a recently purchased 06 Chrylser 300). The Chrysler hasn't left us stranded, but we've only had it a few months.

My 89 Firebird left me stranded with a bad clutch once at 190k miles and several times with bad starters.

My 92 LS400 was having crazy electrical issues that have left me stranded from time to time.

My 2006 Outback, which I just loved in the winter, almost broke down the last summer I had it when both cooling fans started to crap out intermittently...a fairly unusual repair for Subarus like that. The fans, though, cycled off and on, with the needle about three-quarters up the temp-gauge, JUST enough for me to get home (about 5-6 miles) and to the dealership for a quick-appointment the next morning. They had the fans in stock, fortunately. That, BTW, is one reason I don't like cars with cooling-system idiot-lights. My brother's old 2001 Impreza also had a temp-gauge instead of an idiot-light....and, because of that, he was able to detect a bad thermostat where the engine temp was going up and down...not bad enough to trigger a red light. The thermostat had just been installed a couple of days earlier....but IT turned out to be defective. A second replacement thermostat worked fine, with no further problems.

My Lexus has never broke down in exception of a couple dead batteries which was all my fault. My '08 535i on the other hand has left me stranded once, fuel pump went out 800 miles away from home a couple of years ago. It went into limp mode last year and I couldnt go over 23mph.

For the 2 years I had a 2001 VW Jetta VR6 way back when it left me stranded twice. Once it puked up all of its coolant on the ground and another time when the alternator gave up the ghost.

Other than a dead battery here and there, I've never been stranded since I was 16, back in 2000 when I had a 1991 Buick Regal.

In all that time I've put about 150k miles on a combination of 90's cars, 1999 Z28 Camaro, 1998 Z28 Camaro, 1991 Cadillac Brougham, 1995 Cadillac Fleetwood, 1993 Toyota truck, and the 1992 Lexus SC300. Kind of funny that the newest car I've ever owned was a 1999 model, and it was the most trouble prone.
