Which plug-in vehicle would Jay Leno buy?

The obvious answer is the Chevy Volt. He owns one, absolutely loves it and its his daily driver.

But what if Leno were to buy another plug-in. What would it be?

For the man with mounds of cash, the choice is the McLaren P1.

Yep, that’s right, the P1 will soon be parked next to the Volt in Jay Leno’s garage.

At $1 million, few can afford a P1, but if you so desire supercar performance in a plug-in hybrid package, then its either the P1 or Porsche 918 Spyder you’d buy.

For Leno, the P1 it is.

Outside of McLaren’s engineers and execs, Leno becomes the first person to drive the P1 and its caught on video here.

I really hope Leno does some sort of weekly syndicated show like "Jay Leno's Garage" or something....I like him as a gear head (only).

LOL Its the first time I have ever seen him in one of these videos not wearing his blue jeans and jean shirt. He is going all fancy for the McLaren guys. If you see that there factory looks more like a lab than a factory I would be dressed up too

I wore blue jeans and sneakers on the LFA factory tour. :P Fortunately, I don't own a blue denim shirt.

The McLaren factory does look awesome. Obviously, I've always revered the F1. I just wish the MP4-12C inspired me more dynamically.

Money does buy happiness. To those who say otherwise, put them in a P1 and ask them if they wanna buy it.

Jay is a lucky man, he was really impressed with the Porsche 918 too, at the end of the test drive he said he might have to get it to upgrade from his Carrera GT, wonder what Jay thinks after the 918 did the Nürburgring in 6:57. Of all 3 hybrid super cars I think I like the styling of the 918 the best but that black P1 did look really good in the video. Still want to see more on the Ferrari and I can't wait for a shootout test between all 3.

Yup, it looks much better than Jay's, although I don't care for the rear styling of the car.
