Getting this car in automatic makes me very sad, but at least you have a legit reason.

If I ever get one of these, it has to be enjoyed with the manual transmission.

Congrats though!

Congrats! The C7 is tempting for me, also.

Did you opt for museum delivery?

congrats!

if I order one I would do the museum delivery - they meticulously go thru the car and make sure everything is 100% right. http://www.corvettemuseum.org/ncm_de.../dealers.shtml There's also live feeds and I did some screen captures when a buddy picked his up there.

I started with the museum delivery for that reason and to tour the factory in a VIP tour. However it slows down availability for an average of about 3 weeks + cost $990 bucks. I'm getting mine from one of the largest 'Vette dealers in the SE and they have mechs that only service the 'Vettes. So no worries there. The dealer is also going to offer me to take up a future museum delivery customer for gas both ways and meals. And the lucky customer will get about a 6 hour demo ride in a Torch Red coupe. That way I'll be able to tag along on the VIP tour (up to 4 people per delivery) and I'll join the museum while I'm there. Lifetime membership is 1/2 price now for seniors so ...... And they've broke ground behind the museum on their new road course track with a drag strip. Maybe at least part of it will be open when I go.

Jim, what a great looking ride. Can feel your excitement! I just feel bad for your Segway that wont get as much use once you take delivery.

whatever works for you if you want to drive the car slower than one with an auto.
