Toyota should bring out a Camry ECO model like they did with the Corolla ECO model.

^Agree. I also wonder if that "7 spd" CVT will make its way into the next Camry...

Powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, the 2015 Sonata Eco takes advantage of a new seven-speed dual-clutch transmission to deliver an estimated 28 mpg in the city and 38 mpg on the highway. Those are impressive considering the Sonata Eco has 177 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque and its 32-mpg combined rating is segment leading for a non-hybrid midsize sedan.
With all the fluff surrounding EPA estiamtes lately I'll take this one with a grain of salt

You mean Toyota is giving their CVT equipped cars '7-speed' vs 6 preselected 'gears'? Was this news or is it actually implemented now?

Similar to the GS450h CVT getting '8' for '14 vs '6' from '13.

I'm going to assume Hyundai posted realistic MPG numbers for this model given all the drama from before. It is worth noting that, outside the Hybrid model, the Sonata's MPG numbers were never impacted by the epa revisions.

Maybe in person the '15 looks better than pictures make it out to be but agreed, 2015 looks like they are trying too hard IMO.

I agree that one really needs to see most cars in person to get a feel for what they really look like.

I get the same feeling that Lexus is trying too hard when I see pics of the new NX. I'm holding out hope that seeing it person will change my mind.

Definitely need to see cars in person.

I've seen the new Sonata in person and driven it. In my opinion, the new Sonata represents a cleaner, sharper look than the previous generation, and will age better overall. Last model was a hit when it came out, but aged rather quickly with its swoopy lines.

I've also seen the new NX in person, and Lexus is indeed trying too hard. Haha

its also worth noting their turbo powertrains got worse mpg than competition in magazine testing

same can be said for almost all of the latest turbos vs their respective NA competitors.
