reviews of an 11 year old Nissan Maxima are not relevant to a not even released Infiniti Q30. if you can't keep your comments relevant to the Q30, perhaps you should not post in this thread. thanks.

I4 only. The engine bay wasn't designed to accept a V6. I don't see this as a problem as long as Infiniti is able to improve upon MB's drivetrain programming.

That's disappointing but not surprising.

The A 250 and GLA 250 both use a 2.0T 208hp 258lbft mated to a 7-Speed DCT.
The latest GLC 300 a 2.0T 241hp 273lbft mated to a 9-Speed Auto

Do we know which engine iteration the Q30 is getting? Using in-house 7-Speed or cvt? Benz 7-Speed or 9-Speed?

Multiple sources have maintained that the Q30/QX30 will be using the entire Mercedes drivetrain, 7-speed DCT included. Note that this isn't the normal 7-speed torque converter auto. I'm not sure what the final output will be given the A-class facelift will be hitting the market the same time as the Q30 with some engine updates. I'm positive it's not going to get the 300 motor. I wish that wasn't the case given the A45 AMG is getting a power boost, widening the gap.

Infiniti Q30-57bzvfd.jpg

The Q30, Infiniti’s all new active compact, will start to divulge itself at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, leading up to a full reveal at the 2015 Frankfurt motorshow.

The 2.2-liter diesel engine featured on the display car here is likely sourced from Mercedes-Benz, as a same displacement unit is used on the European-market Infiniti Q50 in which it puts out 168HP (170PS) and 400Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque paired to either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed auto transmission.
And lemme guess, not for our Shores

This car, like many upcoming Infinitis, was delayed quite a bit. I saw this back in November along with the next Q60 and QX30. Unless the QX30 is right next to it, they are sometimes indistinguishable. BTW, as I said numerous times in the past 1 1/2 years, Infiniti are you showing nothing more than spruced up versions of the production models. They are not being "watered down for production", since they were the basis of the show car already.

The Q30 design was pretty much final by early 2013 and had prototypes with finished and functional interiors being shown in private back in April 2013. By the time the IAA 2013 concept appeared in September 2013, even the QX30 design was frozen (coming a little later).

The new QX50 refresh was also FINISHED back by early 2013 and the next generation, signed-off last year for 2017 introduction, which is a joke in my opinion for this class. This is not a Q80/Q90 nor a QX80, so 36 month lead times are excessive for a compact. Infiiniti's line-up is stale.
