Default 2017 Mazda RX7!!

The new 2017 RX-7 ?!?!... concept rendering by Japanese Magazine. What do you think?

Ultra light weight vehicle, Direct Injected 16X based RE with Hydrogen Capability. Razor sharp handling.

hopefully this will not be the torqueless joke the RX8 was. Anyone remember that Mazda lied about the hp numbers on the car and had to offer to buy back the cars if the owners wanted

https://thetfp.com/tfp/tilted-motors...#axzz2bOr4PlVA

On top of the lie and no torque the engine needs to much work to frequently.

It's fun to speculate, but the new Kodo design language will hit a few more models first, and the next Miata will bow before the next RX-7/8/9 that's been rumored the last few years

I like the looks but just need to see some specs. Until then, I'm not gonna keep my hopes up.

Yes, the new era of Japanese sport cars will start to go back like the 80s & 90s to compete w/ the hot trend toyota 86. Got to love it. Here are the few.
Toyota: The 86, Supra, Mr2 ???
Nissan: 370z, GTR and possibly rumor 240sx will be back soon.
Mazda: Miata, Rx8 ---> new rumor Rx7
Honda: a new reborn S2000 ?
Subaru: WRX sti, BRZ keep rolling
Mitsubishi: The Evo

So the Japanese are doing to retro revival thing like the Americans did over the last 5-7 years with the Camaro, mustang, charger, and challenger. It worked for the American cars to push sales and now that the Japanese brands are all grown up and have older customer who actually remember the older models it will work for them as well. I just think they styling will be modern but the names will be resurrected

Well hard to believe, but anything is possible. I really hope they bring a lot of cars back. Like the NSX is coming there was a video on them testing it on the track.

Hopefully they RX-7 just stays dead. Or comes with a v8 in it stock so you don't have to rip out the blown up rotary engine and do it yourself.

The last RX-7 was a beautiful car with an absolutely brilliant chassis. Its just that darn rotary engine is so finicky and likes to self destruct.

A friend of mine had one of those RX7s with corvette engine swap. Monster of a car.
