I forgot where I read it, but I read in an article somewhere that Toyota wanted to make something that's almost perfect and feels like something is missing. They wanted to make the base really good, but everything else is "almost" good. Something like the base can't be modified but everything else can be. They want each owner to finish it up and make it a perfect car to their taste, or something like that. If someone feels like the power isn't enough, the interior isn't nice enough, the grip isn't enough, the exhaust is too quiet, the suspensions are too soft, and etc., that's exactly what they wanted it to be. So, if you say this car doesn't have enough power, then it can be taken as a complement to them in a way.

when the 370Z Sport is now 33k, the STI BRZ cannot be near that price

I would rather a 370 any day. Its a manlier car with *****. The FRS is a handler but very much under powered. Its kind of an entry level sports car. The Z is a lower end sports cars that can run with many of the big boys

If they make another version from ~250 whp @ $35k, they will have another good hot sale . The 370z has only 2 seaters will be hard to compete at an overal good package driver car and in sale department. 370z currently is suffering in sale volume and I'm not sure if lower the price will help the Z.
