Typical mileage allowance paid is $0.55 a mile.

This dude made $495,000 driving that much, not including his wages.

However, he still had to pay for the car, fuel, and maintenance. Still, not a bad way to make extra $$$.

I remember reading about that when I was a member over on 8thcivic.com. I still miss my 06 Civic EX to this day.

Another of a million contributors to health care costs. Medical couriering is pretty common. Guy talked about how he delivers all kinds of supplies that people need right away. People can't wait for other delivery methods.

Damn that's a lot of driving indeed. "IT'S OVER 9000!!!"

With that said, will it reach a point where the car's trip meter will run out of digits to display? (i.e. 99999999) xD

P.S.
On a serious note:
Mad props to that fellow.

Being that his profession/line of work is in the medical/health field, it's great to know that his car and its engine are working when it's needed even after long distance driving.

Crown Vic engine isn't reliable at all. They burn oil from the start, and by the time they hit 60k they leak like pigs and consume as much oil as they consume gas.

But the rest of the car is very reliable, specifically the chassis, because of its body on frame, simple construction, and rwd drivetrain with solid rear axle.

That being said, riding in a high mileage crown vic (or its derivative Town Car/Grand Marquis) is about as pleasant as using public bathroom. It stinks, leaks, rattles, squeaks and squeals.

Will disagree on that, my neighbor has an 03 Crown Vic with when i last heard, 302k miles and that thing is great. Rides perfect and after my first time in it and being told the mileage I was floored, those things are tough.

Digital odometers just stop at 999,999 unfortunately. Unlike the old anolog odometers that would roll back to 00000. There's a YouTube video showing a Toyota Echo in Canada stuck at 999,999 KM.

I've been saying that it's time that automakers start putting in 7 figure odometers as it is becoming more common to pass 1M miles or kilometers. Even though the vast majority of cars don't make it there, what's the big deal making space for another digit?

This. The 4.6 in the early 90's had problems with the valve stems, you'd see puffs of blue smoke out the tailpipe when you stomped on it.

That motor in the Crown Vic chassis has proven to be tough as nails. Also very thirsty for no more power than it puts out(its only like 230hp for your police versions). If the motors were pieces of junk once they got some miles on them, taxi companies wouldn't buy them when the police were through with them.
