this car wont be an M5 fighter, M5 V8TT will dust it. But the GSF will be signficantly cheaper than an M5 so its kind of an in between the M3/4 and 5. M5 starts at high 90s? I bet the GSF will be 85k loaded, as a GS is $8k more than an RC. M5 I wanted to make was $115k

Of course, it all comes down to money. I stick with Lexus with it's much lower cost of ownership, if I win the lotto jackpot tomorrow, I won't know what Lexus is, it would be a fleet of nothing but Euros

That Mulsanne Speed is so sweet

BNR, in response to your earlier post, no we should not be happy we are just now getting the GS-F. How long has it been since we could get a V8 in the GS? As fans and loyal customers we should be pissed it has taken this long and for the wait, it better be awesome...........

Well , if they want to keep it under 500 hp , I think it is a better idea that they make it clear they have given up making a real M5/E63 fighter GS F at least for this generation , just put in the same V8 engine (maybe even detune it slightly)as the RC and call it GS500 F-Sport , that should be enough to make many of those waiting for a V8 GS more than happy

People are forgetting this is NA with an uprooted RC F 5.0 meaning closer to 500hp*. The Euro's have roughly 500-560hp with FI. Give it some FI and it'll surpass some current Euro M's and AMG's.

For now I'm stoked that this GS is all motor. FI will come soon enough. But this will be one bad*** linear mother******!!

Once again, you are very stuck on that 0-60, but all right :-)

I dont see why Lexus cant have V8 competitor that is a bit lighter and NA engine.

My point exactly, I am happy to just get a V8, period.

Do you prefer Lexus don't make this GS-F at all, V6 GS350 and GS450h are your only choices? They can certainly do that, look at Acura.

Be grateful

No one is stopping you from going over to the $100k+ Euros that are only reliable for 50k miles, they do rock with 600 hp Smoking hot 20 years old mistresses are way more fun then a boring normal house wife too, just don't complain with the ultra high cost required.

I am grateful for my boring normal house wife, I am not George Clooney.

Of course we all want a smoking hot 20 years old mistress that can cook and clean and never buy anything, we can keep dreaming.

I agree completely

Again I am just grateful having a 5.0L V8, it is just a badge, we can rebadge it to anything we want It is much easier changing the badge then the engine/tranny

This $85k 500 hp GS-F is exactly a well priced GS500 F-Sport, why are you stuck on the badge? You can peel it off anytime you want, there are no hole.

Would you rather Lexus don't make this GS-F at all, you prefer to swap in a V8 yourself?

If you want to spend more for more, $115k E63 and M5 is available next door

Bravo, my point exactly

GS-F will be $85k~$90k loaded, will be reliable for 100k miles and beyond.

E63 and M5 are $120k loaded that would only be reliable for 50k miles at best.

GS-F is like half the price for people who keep it for a long time.

They got me into the brand more than a decade ago because the GS was awesome, why would I be happy it has taken this long to give me another product?

Sounds like smart business to me, lets not give our long term customers what they want and encourage them to go somewhere else, smart!!!

And what do you mean $100k+? How much is an S6 or 550I MSport? As it seems the GS-F will not be an M5 or RS fighter, everyone and their mother has an 400hp+ sedan with a V8 and AWD, welcome to what, 2009?

People spending that kind of money often don't care what the car does after 50k miles, if you're so worried about price sit tight and buy a used GS-F in 5-6 years since you do not mind waiting

I think so too.

Lexus is just starting with this NA 5.0L 500 hp for now, a hell of a 1st generation if you ask me.

They are developing the TT V8 like the rumor suggested, so people, buy this 1st gen GS-F and the Twin Turbo 600 hp next gen will come

You're putting your own definitions of what you think an "F" car should be onto them. Nobody from Lexus is saying that these cars are designed to compete with BMW's M and Mercedes AMG...the only people who are saying that are people on forums. In fact they have repeatedly said that they don't have a benchmark in sight when designing these cars.

If the LFA is the halo idea of what a "Lexus F" car is supposed to be, then I think the RC-F and the GS-F are good examples of that. The LFA is not a clear bruiser or winner on paper, but on the road, on the track, its an incredible car.

If that doesn't work for you then by all means, buy an M5 or E63. You want "F" to be something along the lines of BMW's M, and obviously their definition of what they want "F" to be is a little different in some ways.
