I still hope they do something to the rear.

this is just about the same as talking about the starting price. for 130k there are likely options on the m5 that you can't get in the gsf, so it's apple to orange.

They did what they did so the outer shape of each side of the RC forms the outside of a spindle.

No sunroof so CF roof could be in the cards

Nice use of slotted discs ala RCF

not to mention that it will likely be lighter than M5... I wonder what happens then. I guess nothing.

I wonder if the technical showpiece of the GS-F ( and its secret weapon in its bid to take the fight to M5/E63/RS6) won't be the 500 hp engine ( which is undergunned vs the 560-600 hp Germans ) but some miracle of lightweight chassis engineering that Lexus is secretly introducing.

Such that even with 500 hp, the GS-F would still have a favorable power-weight ratio and thus keep up with the Germans in 0-60, 1/4 mile and in the turns, its lighter weight would allow it to shine out as the better driver's/handling car.

there is no miracle, it will be based on GS... but that also means that it could be 200-300lbs lighter than M5, since GS is pretty light.

The Lexus GS has been making waves this generation with its bold front end, F-sport styling, and handling enhancements. we have a long history with this platform and can't wait to get our hands on the new GS F.

GS (after the LFA of course) sparked the Lexus resurgence, of course they were testing the waters with the Spindle so I (and others) are stoked that since 2012 to now 2014 the rest of the line-up were graced with it and now coming full circle the GS will be blessed

Hoovey, do you think this GSF is still a prototype or pretty much how it's going to look? I.E., will there be wider fender flares or vents in the hood?

Personally, we're probably looking at something closer to the F-Sport body, I'd imagine the F will have similar RC F cues like the hood vents for one like you mention

Was hoping for wider fenders to help separate it from the f sport. Also, hoping for the base of the spindle to be not as flared as the rcf. Like others have stated, the aggressive front might not match the rest of the body. Keeping the spindle shape more subdue like the LS would retain more of classy but yet sporty feel IMO. Heck, keep the same shape as the f sport but make it a full spindle.

i wouldnt be surprised if they just put new fenders front and back to standard GS (for testing purposes)...

I was hoping that the GS F would debut in refreshed GS form, with what I assume will be full spindle, separate DRLs, revisions to exterior and interior, etc.

They could obviously be testing the car in the current body, and plan to change it for production, but depending on when they are going to show it to the public, it goes one of two ways:

1) GS F is in the current GS body for one model year (disappointing with a refresh just around the corner).
2) The GS F is part of a GS refresh announcement that includes GS 200t and several mid-cycle upgrades.

I am hoping for the latter.
