There are really easy mods to defeat skip shift for most of the sport cars. Just go to the forums for the respective car and everyone will tell you how (or what to buy and who can do it). I hear some dealerships even do it in their service departments for free when you buy the car (you just have to ask)

I don't get why everyone is upset, because it easy to defeat with a $30 cheap mod.. It is on the last few Corvettes to get great mileage, now in the 30 mpg range, which is insane for a sports car, and avoid the gaz guzzler tax, saving the customer some money.. Think some of the high horsepower German cars having a speed limiter is worse, you need to do something with the ECU, which is expensive to get rid of the darn limiter.
