BTW, I test drove a '17 Acura TLX. It was nice, quiet and had plenty of power. I had no concerns, especially after hearing the complaints about the clunky 9-speed transmission. But I think the interior killed it for me. The materials weren't too different than my Honda Accord, it only comes with fake traditional wood, and the pushbutton drive selector...
I then test drove a '17 Audi A4 and went for it immediately. It just felt faster and more nimble, with much better quality and tech. Not surprising for the price difference, but definitely worth the additional $$$.
Hopefully Acura will move the interior upmarket in the '18 model. It is a nice all-around car.

I use to think these things were fugly. But after seeing a few in person they have grown on me.

That sounds like the good old days at GM back in the 70's/80's/90's. Oh you want a sports package, here's some ground effects, a spoiler(or maybe a luggage rack!!!), and some tape stripes for an extra $1500.

It's pretty sad, when you consider Lexus actually integrates the exterior and interior of the F Sport models and tweaks the chassis. Same for BMW with the M Sport package.
I know not everyone likes Jalopnik, but this is a pretty funny take on the TLX GT...

If this rendering is any indication it may look pretty nice.

I'd be pretty surprised if that car made it for the facelift. Usually facelifts do not change the shape of the headlights. But if this was it, it's going to look nice. Anything will be a huge improvement once the ungainly choking shield is removed from the face. That is a move Acura should have done eight years ago when the majority of people said it looked bad. This is a prime example of automotive stubbornness and corporate Asian inflexibility taking over and getting in the way of progress.

They got rid of the beek and made something even worse. I'd be worried about Flavor-Flav ripping that huge Acura badge off your car and putting it on his chain. I mean that Acura badge is even more honking than a 1980's Benz SL grill logo.

That red TLX GT is very reminiscent of the old 3rd gen TL A-SPEC (factory sanctioned tuner package).
San the skirts I actually really like the Acura TLX, especially the 2.4 mated to the 8-speed dual-clutch w/ torque converter, it was a slick combination. Not happy about the Superman grill on the 2018, I don't mind the current TLX shield, looks refined and close to the 3rd gen.
