2015 Acura TLX Discussion

Lead Lap
One last comment mmarshall- note that cars like the Focus and the Dart are using a dry dual clutch tranny, which is more jerky than the setup VW/Acura uses, for example.

looking at that motorweek video where they compare the shape to the outgoing tl and tsx shows how nice and short the front overhang of this tlx is - impressive for a fwd vehicle.
i'm still not a fan of acura/honda/infiniti's dual screen center stack approach, but anyway, i think this car's going to do pretty well for the brand.

It is a different approach. I still much prefer Lexus's method of actual climate and some audio buttons even though they are somewhat redundant as they are accessible through the nav/infotainment screen on all nav equipped or display audio models. Only exception is the base CT.

nah. it's still long same as the accord. it's just that the TL was extra long.
At one time, FWD cars had shorter overhangs than RWDs. It would be nice if they brought that back.

Yes....Having reviewed both, one reason (among many) why I bought a Verano was that I was unimpressed with the ILX's level of refinement. I haven't test-driven a new TLX, but I hope it's an improvement.

ILX's i've seen look good on the road and in parking lots, but obviously the specs / value are VERY very weak.
this TLX is better in both areas.

But--I do think it will still do pretty well. I think there's a pretty big market out there to capture the Accord and Camry conservative set that wants to move up a class.

2015 Acura TLX Sedan Tuned by Pembroke Pines & Vossen [w/Video]
We can't vouch for this, but we're told that this is the world's first modified 2015 Acura TLX. It was made by tuners Pembroke Pines and alloy-wheel specialist, Vossen.
In theory, Acura's new TLX competes in the executive compact sedan segment, but in reality, very few, if any, will cross-shop it against a BMW 3-Series or even a Lexus IS. In the eyes of most, it's simply viewed as a small step up from the regular crop of mainstream mid-size saloons like the Honda Accord.
If you want to give it a more distinct look, the styling crews at Pembroke Pines and Vossen propose an OEM body kit with front and rear bumper addons, side skirts and a boot lid spoiler. The car rolls on Vossen's 20-inch VFS-2 silver-polished wheels and a lowered prototype set of coilovers from RS-R.
We don't see it in these photos, but the interior was "touched up" with carbon fiber wraps.
"The man behind this madness is Mike Chang @chan_czag who has worked on this car non-stop since it arrived and has even bigger plans for it," said Vossen. Until we see what else the team has in store for us, check out the gallery and video after the break.
