Agreed - I have been known to be a nitpicker! However while some of these are exactly that a few of them (in my case the tires and rear spoiler - not to mention no exposed exhaust tips which I left off the list) contributed to be deal breakers for me.

The $299 is about what the TSX leased for. I'd say in a year or two the down payment will drop by a thousand. At that point, the entire entry price is reasonable for what you get.

I really want to try Honda's DCT. I've been turned off by other brands' DCT because of low speed drive-ability. They're great for when you're gunning it, but horrible when using in a crowded parking lot. I'm actually quite happy Honda still has some ingenuity in them. There is hope after all..

The trick is that it has a traditional torque converter so the car is smooth no matter what speed

I'd prefer Acura fully implements it before any Honda badged vehicles. Acura needs some differentiating factor to tip the scales in their favor for once vs their more plebeian cousins

A DCT with a TC isn't make any sense to me as i thought the point of going with DCT was to get rid of the slush..?

I imagine the torque convertor is for low speed, ie. before it locks up. Once it's locked, it's no longer a factor.

Personally, I don't buy into this trend.

I'm all for weight savings and complying with CAFE, but I need a spare or RFTs. If you want to force me to buy the spare and a jack as an accessory, I'll do it. But I won't drive a car with an inflator kit. With TPMS, how often are drivers stranded with a flat that can hold air from a slow leak? Yes, I have AAA, but if I'm nowhere near home, that's a long tow if an inflator kit can't help me; and if I have the family with me, how are we all going to fit in the cab of the tow truck.

I don't love RFTs, but it's the only way I'm foregoing a spare.

no that isn't the point of a DCT. the DCT's dual clutches 'pre-selects' and synchronizes the next/previous gear for much faster shifts. but there's always been a trade-off with smoothness at low speeds. with an electronically controlled torque converter, acura has given the car the best of both worlds. pretty slick.

I agree - When I recently priced a TLX V-6 Tech the lease rate with no down money would have run me $570 a month. An RLX Tech was about the same price. Way too much money for either vehicle. The ES I leased had almost the same equipment and was $100 a month cheaper. Even a GS could be had for about $40 less a month. Their unwillingness to come much off MSRP to keep a 4-time customer is what lost me.

Yeah I know how DCT work and why they're made but I guess now with Acura you get the best of both worlds ; fast shift times of DCT and the smoothness / reliability of the good ol TC
