TLX Coupe Would be Acura’s 4-Series Rival – Is there any Point to it?
Do you think the same person who prefers a new Acura TLX sedan over a German or American equivalent would also be interested in the car’s two-door variant?
Such a car would go up against the likes of the BMW 4-Series, Cadillac ATS Coupe and Lexus RC.
Highly unlikely, we say, but, even so, X-Tomi took the time to craft this thoroughly believable rendering of a TLX coupe.
It’s okay to look at and, if it were a real model, you wouldn’t mind your friend having one and you occasionally being a passenger it, ordering at the McDonald’s drive-thru, but owning one yourself and ignoring all the other offerings in the sector? Maybe if it was considerably cheaper.
What do you think: would there be a case for such a model to be made? Would it sell more than five?

To be honest, you probably didn't miss much. I test-drove an old CL Type S.....don't remember which exact year, but it was before I was with CL and writing/posting on the Internet. It was a well-built car, just like all Acuras. But its driving characteristics and road manners, for a sport-based model, weren't particularly exciting. To me, it didn't feel much different on the road from any other ordinary run-of-the-mill mid-sized sedan or coupe. In fact, the later Honda Accord coupe, to me, felt much sportier.

the car is probably going to do ok if enthusiasts are keen to make rendered variants so quickly.

Agreed, my brother brought a 1999 TL. It was kinda boring to drive. Gear box is starting to fail at 100k. I'm so glad I didn't an Acura from that time period. I was reading comments on where owners spent up to $4k to replace the gearbox. One guy has his failed at 40k and than again at 90k. Both were out of pocket repairs.

That's a bit hard to believe he paid for both replacements out of pocket. Acura acknowledge the problem and the recall covered 7 years and 107k miles replacement free of charge. I had this car and the previous owner had the transmission replaced at 60k miles free. When I sold it my car had 150k mile and drove like a champ. no problems whatsoever.

The Acura TLX is an all-new model for the 2015 model year. This vehicle replaces the TSX and the TL. The engine is a 3.5 liter V-6 that makes 290 horsepower and 267 lb-ft. of torque. The transmission is an 8-speed automatic and the car tested here is the SH (super handling) AWD model.
A best 0-60 MPH run of 5.8 seconds was accomplished with the Drive Mode set to “Sport” and the Traction Control turned “On”
