the final iterations of the shield on the MMC ILX and TLX were actually decent and acceptable. They took a really handsome car and butchered it. the new grill looks totally wrong on the car annd screws uup the proportions.

There WERE no Good Old Days at GM back in the 80s and 90 LOL.....and only a very few in the 1970s. Millions of customers got shafted. And it was just as bad, if not worse, at Chrysler.

I know your post here is several months old, but, in other words, it's all show and no go? Even the Lexus F-Sport package does better than that...you at least get a touring suspension/tires and some trim differences inside.

Yep. Possibly bigger rims and more aggressive rubber, but no other tweaks that I'm aware of. See the following from Jalopnik. Hilarious...

I was being sarcastic. In that a lot of "sport" packages on GM cars back in the day were nothing more than damn tape stripes, air damns and spoilers. Worst offender of this IMO was the 180ish hp 307 cubic inch v8 "442" Olds Cutlass in the mid/late 80's. GM had at least one engine with real performance in that era, the 350 Chevy in the Corvette which made a respectable 240hp and 350lb-ft torque. Did GM put that in the heavier Olds Cutlass or Monte Carlo SS, or give Olds the budget to develop its own high tech fuel injected engine. HELL NO!!! Even though both of those larger coupes could've been great performers in their day, GM saddled them with pathetic outdated engine technology that made about 150-180hp depending on year.
