pretty weak design IMO. the side quarter panel bulge going into the rear door's look really desperate, like they were in a rush to design something and settled for mediocre.

That rendered coupe doesn't look too bad

While nice enough, a coupe on this level from Acura has to be far more edgy, dynamic and aggressive. This couldn't be 'just a TLX coupe' no it'd have to go the Lexus RC route and be it's own model with it's own essence

That picture is so tame I didn't even realize it was a coupe rendering until I read your post. Duh, that it doesn't have four doors , but it still looks so sedan-like.

The rear roofline needs to be lower to be a proper coupe. Too upright and boxy as is.

Saw one one the road yesterday. Looked much better in person than in photos. I was actually pleasantly surprised.

It's relevant if Acura decides to build another coupe (non NSX) which is the debate. Point being a coupe from Acura can't be some 'nice but too pleblian two door'. It has to have personality and edge, not just some two door TLX.

If Acura does a TLX coupe, it almost certainly be based on the Accord coupe. The coupe is much different from the Accord sedan, both in styling and driving dynamics. It is not hard to imagine an Acura coupe with the uprated V-6, SH-AWD, and the 9 speed auto having a real customer base. Maybe not large, but the cost to do the Acura version of the Honda coupe is pretty small also.

'Based' is fine. The RC is 'based' on the IS and GS but it is not just a IS/GS coupe and Lexus is quick to say it is a model of it's own was the comparison for a TLX coupe. Savy?

I like your idea. I say they should bring back the RSX name and use the Accord coupe to base it off of. I think if styled correctly, it could do very well for them. The Accord coupe as-is, is excellent
