That was my thought too. It needs over 320hp to compete with who?

I really don't even think Acura is aim for the IS buyer with this car. It seem as if Acura is trying to play the conservative role. Someone that wants a Lexus ES with a little more pizzazz I guess. Rather it work whose knows.

To compete with ES's 268HP V6) That comment makes no sense.

I would take an Optima SXL before I touched a camry. I don't care how long the camry would last, whole really keeps their car more than 5 years?.. I'd rather like what I drive.

I don't think 320hp is relevant for the buyers in this class. When shopping for a FWD, relaxed, entry-levelish car in this segment, I think buyers prioritize smoothness and MPG moreso than outright performance.

Because in the end, the V6 is going to be their top of the line, not the I4 even if it drives better. I could care less about the tech, but I do agree SH-AWD would be nice on a vehicle like this.

I stop by the Acura dealer on my lunch break yesterday. The TLX looks a lot better in person, this one will be a hot number for Acura. Performance wise I hope car is better than its hype, but at-least its got decent body form..

I don't want a Camry either--I just expect it to cost less than a comparably sized "luxury" branded model.

This is going to be a home-run for Acura. But it's a little bland for my tastes.

Acura still has a desirable and respected brand (as evidenced by the MDX sales numbers), but they haven't offered any new cars that people really want. I think this will change that. Considering this will be a volume seller, I see room for a Type-S (w/ 300+hp) and hybrid in the TLX line-up as well.

I see a lot of TLs on the road, so someone must want them. They haven't offered any new car *enthusiasts* really want.

I was informed a TLX landed at our Acura store. I'll have to see where they hid it

My local Acura dealer had a launch party for the TLX. Believe it or not they sold three in the 45 minutes I was there and al three were walk in customers. The TLX is a nice car inside and out. It's a very safe car and I don't see any was this won't sell large amounts. Here are some pics..
