Infiniti Q50 thread

thing is - you can do all that with regular steering rack, there is no need to have completely drive by wire one.
For instance a lot of Toyota models in Europe now have self parking feature which steers the steering wheel completely on its own for parking - all the way too. Our Toyota's also have similar self steer system on regular steering rack too.
so i have said this few months ago, why in the world would you do this in sports sedan? Except for cost savings of course.

As much as I love Infiniti and my current G37s, after all of the testimony and feedback, the Q50 really doesn't seem like it's going to be the car to beat for me. It definitely has the advantage when it comes to technology but it seems to have taken a huge step back when it comes to performance.

Test drove the q50 today
And guess what? We can now recirculate the cabin air without turning the ac on.
And steer by wire is horrible. Normal settings feels almost normal. but the 4 other settings is a joke.

so how would you rate over IS350 Fsport? Do you still want to trade yours in for one ;-) .. next test drive is 335i?
Curious - did you test drive the q50s or non S (i'm not even sure what the S offers that non-S does)

I was looking at the Q50. I loved it when I saw it on TV, and when I looked it over on the net; however, when my wife and I saw it in person - we did not like the body style whatsoever. I was also unsure about the steer by wire as well. We were bummed.
BMW's are cool, but they all look the same. If I was in the market for a car in the IS-F/M3 bracket though - I would have went with the M3 all of the way.

The VQ engine is overrated and unrefined.
And the Q50 is a bloated machine.
I also hate the glossy touch screen interface!
And not to mention the stupid Q50 name
I prefer the G37 Coupe and even sedan over the Q50

i dunno if its all nissan cars but my 2003 Sentra Spec V i had b4 was like that, the a/c button is kinda pointless... a/c button is only good for summer when u don't want the a/c on, other than that, the a/c turns itself on when u turn the temp to heat even if your a/c is off... i don't know if i am the only one but i found nissan cars tend fog up easily too... my friend's g35 had same problem on a rainy day just fog right up...

I drove the non-S with the touring package.
Technology wise. The Q50 stomps on the IS350.
It has a 360 degree camera, the bose audio sounds amazing, it has power tilt and telescopic steering wheel, REAL leather, blind spot intervention and it obviously has more power. The navigation is faster, smoother and not only touch screen but you can also use a remote just like the Lexus. Has all the apps and stuff Lexus has and more. The Gauge also has those option screen just like Lexus which it shows your all sorts of info, medai, navi, etc etc.
All that for 43k (before tax / lic.)
The styling is a bit bland but it's not that bad. It looks better than the non-Fsport.

I would have to agree with you except on the last point about the Q50 looking better than a Non-F Sport. The F-Sport and Non-Sport both look great but the front end of Non-Sport is not as polarizing as the Non-Sport. I personally love the large mesh-grille of the F-Sport but I know a lot of people that prefer the front end of the non-F sport because it's a little more subtle.

the vq engine is overrated? VQ was a benchmark engine that toyota and lexus modeled after. the VQ was the first v6 to have that exhaust bark that manufactures now try to replicate (ie is350, camry, mustang)
glossy screen, im guessing you must hate apple products as well.
stupid name? lol. at least you ran out of bad things to say about the rest of the car to talk about the name.
the q50 is a direct competitor to the IS series but IMO has a better interior and engine. that car has a superior engine design that has endless of capabilities. also a better looking engine bay with dual throttle bodies. it would be a 300whp+ with bolt ons and uprev tune.

Infiniti does a lot of things well. Good stereo, latest tech, agressive styling all for a good price but the refinement is just not there. Not in my g37s coupe at least. It was heavy as *****, didnt handle well even when lowered, acceleration was rough. Maybe Infiniti stepped up there game since then but I forgive my 3is shortcomings because what it does have it does well.

Infiniti and Acura do not have the prestige Lexus has, which offers many models that rival Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi counterparts. While some may say it does / should not matter, when paying a premium, it does to many, and does to me.
