Infiniti Q50 thread

Infiniti for a long time has lagged slightly behind Toyota and Honda, though i'm rooting for them to catch up, loved the early Datsun Z-cars and I had a '90 Q45 that was fun.
To me though, not really into the turbos; its sort of like saying "my smaller motor isn't powerful enough so I'll slap on a couple of turbos..." This is a common European trick too due to insurance and taxation the auto companies limit the engine liters so they fall under a quota, then they try to make up for the lack of liters in slap-on parts.
Its hard to beat the naturally aspirated V-8 in the IS-F

But it's a faux I'd say. At full throttle there won't be much difference in a 400hp 3,5 Turbo and a 5L V8.

It will be tunable with the turbo but I wouldnt touch an Infiniti . I was one of the very first people in the United states with the first 2003 G35 ( purchased in June of 2002) and it was fun but had me at the dealership alllllllllll the time. I wouldnt touch that POS. On top of that its a first year model which means its going to absolutely have issues. PASS

My wife was an early adopter of the G37 because of how much she liked my G35. We still drive that car, today, with almost 215k miles on it. The only repair we've made to it is a clutch about 6 months/5k miles ago.
As you can see...I can't speak highly enough for the reliability of Infiniti. And this Red Sport is very intriguing. And with turbos, it will be easy to tune.

I was one of the very first to have a G coupe, as well. Actually...the 2nd person to have a 6 speed manual in Atlanta. Never had a problem with it.

Oh it will because the comparison with the IS350 will be a blood bath. You cant hide 94 hp behind reliability and refinement . IS350 has an ANCIENT power plant. Time to step it up Lexus. When the 07 GS350 came out it had 58 more HP than the GS300. I see a little bump in the IS line midcycle. There are going to be many IS350 owners crying

The power/price of today's cars is crazy and fun. I'd personally prefer a NA V8 from Lexus, but damn if this doesn't make me question that. Plus, the price will plummet on these quickly. I'd guess again, like a $35k car in less than a year.
