If you put a bunch of heavy batteries in the engine bay, it would be way too nose heavy, and handling would be crap.

As a start, I don't see why they can't move some battery cells elsewhere and make a pass-through.

We're talking about practical FWD family sedans here anyway. Handling can take a back seat to trunk size.

The only thing holding me back from buying a hybrid is the useless trunk, which was measured to be about 8 cubic feet, with no pass-through. The accord hybrid at $28000 would be a good deal considering the fuel savings over 15 years would put you way ahead by that time.
For phev? Anyone know what's the trunk like on hybrid?

Great numbers, but the determining factor in its success will ultimately be its price. It has to be competitive with the Camry, otherwise its 6mpg delta is going to be a moot point.

according to this, 8.6 cubic. Forget about family trips. The whole family will have to share one suitcase

Wow!!! That's worse than even the first-gen GS450h. Glad I withheld my compliment. Try again Honda.

Great Numbers indeed, I like the look of the new Accord much better than the Camry.

Is that the trunk space of the Accord Hybrid or the Plug-in Hybrid? I would expect -- and HOPE -- that the mere Hybrid would have a larger trunk.

not if that's the space for the plug-in which the GSh isn't.

in a similar way, the ford c-max hybrid has a load more room than the c-max energi (plug-in).

Right, but the article and the stats it mentions are about the Accord Hybrid not PHEV, so I'm now hoping the article is just being sloppy with the information.

it could be the reg. hybrid, wouldn't surprise me, and i expect an accord is a good bit smaller than a gs. hybrid versions of regular sedans have never made any sense for me unless it's really a city commuter (little need for space).
