seeing as how the supercharging capabilities cost a few thousand extra, it may be be more practical just spend the $60 each time and get it swapped

60$ per 300 miles ? That is like 5$ or so a gallon of gas. My RX is 300 miles a fill, and it cost 50 average lol.
More the reason to stay with gasoline cars
Anyways, that is cheap for electric car. Considering how fast that S drive hehe

Or you can just charge at home for about $5
Can you fill up your gas tank for $5?
If you use Tesla's Supercharger, it is FREE.
Can you fill up your gas tank for FREE?

The $60-$80 battery swap option is only for those people who are going on a road trip, and who don't want to wait the 30 minutes or so for a FREE supercharge.

Figure out how much money you spend in gas per year on your equally priced ICE car and you will clearly see that" filling up" a Tesla is a far, far cheaper option.

You can still use your 120 or 240 outlet at home. I was saying in order to be able to use the supercharger network, the car has to be installed with the option and its a 2 grand extra i think
