with the rear wheels stopping abruptly like that, something in the drivetrain got tore up.

Negative. Portable dyno's are janky as hell and this one seized. Not the first time this has happened.

I think he meant with the wheels coming to an abrupt stop via the dyno, something ended up getting tore up in the stang

theres a lot of rotational energy in the drivetrain right before the dyno fails, and that energy has to go somewhere. The rear wheel looks a bit floppy after the failure. Luckily didnt seriously injure someone too with flying metal.
