I agree, but I don't think either car is particularly good looking, especially for the price.

The R8 certainly looks more exotic because of it's MR layout, however Godzilla is...well Godzilla!

You bring up an interesting point. No doubt the R8 is the better looking of the two RIGHT NOW. It's a very modern design while the GTR is kinda out there and quirky. In 15 years, what once was modern will be considered dated and the out there, quirky design may prove to be the "cooler" car.

I still the GTR looks like a bloated whaleshark.

I'd pick the R8 V8 w/ 6-spd manual for $115k instead.

This.

5 years later and the hater comments are still hilarious. People just don't get how ridiculously stupid the performance is in this car.

A 2013 was traded in to us with mods up to 700hp. Guy traded it in for a LS F-Sport. So yes I have driven a GT-R. Blistering performance doesn't excuse window switches from a Nissan Versa. Fun car sure, but I could care less that it performs better than 99% of cars. For $100,000 you expect refinement in quality and materials (GT-R isn't the only offender, Chevy ZR1 is bad too) - cause apparently you can't get that in a $45,000 ES

Very few cars currently impress me as much as the GTR. There are about 6 in my area. The build quality is fantastic, and you can surely hear them purr as they drive down the road. Would much rather have the GTR.

GTR FTW! Easily!! Like someone said with the spare change, you could refine it and still go on vacation. Plus blowing away the competition is priceless! GODZILLA!!!!!!! My seats would be made out of neon green gator.

There is no clear victor between these two amazing performance automobiles. Hence, you cannot go wrong with either as both vehicles are absolutely fantastic in their own right =)

The R8 is just par for the course : another overpriced all round competent supercar in a long history of supercars.

The GTR is mould-breaking and a piece of automative history : a car with not just supercar but hypercar performance for mainstream luxe prices.

For all intents and purposes, it puts owning hypercar performance within reach of the average car enthusiast.

With the GTR around, it serves to keep all those traditional supercar/hypercar makers honest.

both cars aren't photogenic at all, especially the r8 but when you see the audi in person, supercar status.

id still choose the gtr just because of the performance and aftermarket/exclusivity . there is like over 15 r8s in my city and i see one nearly everyday after work.
